Salad Beauty Treatment (1968)
Henlow Grange Beauty Farm, Henlow, Bedfordshire.
Man pushes wheelbarrow filled with fruit and vegetables into house. Woman is picking roses and placing them in basket. She walks towards house. She picks petals and places them into a large silver bowl. A girl is lying in bath filled with rose petals. It is some kind of Jacuzzi - great water massage. Woman pours more petals into bath. This and many other treatments involving fruit and vegetables are speciality of the Henlow Grange Beauty Farm.
White paste is smothered over woman's naked body - it is good for skin elasticity - we are told. A chef wearing chef's whites and hat, slices cucumber and gives it to a beautician. She places cucumber slices all over woman's back. Another beautician steams it with a little steam machine - this clears the skin.
Chef prepares face mask. Half of avocado pear is mashed with juice of half a lemon. Beautician applies it to girl's face and massages it into her skin. Girl is lying in a bath tub filled with water and herbs (greens, lots of leaves). Chef comes with a huge tray full of sliced fruit and vegetables. He throws it in water - girl smiles. She takes two slices of beetroot and starts massaging her cheeks with them.

This place still exists. Of course, now it is spa instead of beauty farm.
Vintage videos are fun to watch but I love when they “boil” the water at the beginning as if a human could just lay in boiled water for an extended period of time 😭😭

So you’d rather put chemicals made in a lab on your skin than natural foods and vegetables. Not a waste of food. The food was GROWN at that farm for the purpose of Spa. You just think it is a waste of food because no one knows how to grow food anymore. Back in these days anyone could feed their family.

Fruits and vegetables are the most free thing in the world, if you know how to grow them. Sun and rain and rain collection does all the work. The fertilizer is free too-dead leaves, dead plant material, Fermented urine, animal poop.

野菜を刻むのにいちいちコックが出てきてワロタ(⊙ꇴ⊙) きゅうりを背中に貼りながらスチームあてるのは気持ちいいだろうけど、レモンで顔をゴシゴシしたり絞り汁入のパックは刺激が強くて痛くないのだろうか？ 最後にレタスを浴槽に入れてなにか効果があるとは思えない。 昔の常識って今は違うよね。
