It is awesome when people sent you new varieties of dragon fruit for you to test them. 2 more for you to add to your collection. I can see you air layering them as soon as you have some time. As always a pleasure to see your videos. Love the way you explain everything and take your time for it. Keep it going. Thank you.

Thanks Roberto and Richard. congratulations on the first baby, I wish you put the name of the parents' of these fruits in the bottom of notes and can you describe the numbering, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc does it mean one Katai plant base got pollinated with 4 varieties and you mentioned "Criss crossed" this means the pollen of one was used to fertilize other, if so if one is sterile and need pollon of other, how would it work on criss cross? thanks

I live in Canada, and it gets pretty cold with not a lot of sun where I live. about 3/4 of the year it's not super warm. Is it possible for me to still grow dragon fruit? Which kind should I start to grow? I also live in an apartment, so I don't have too much room like a backyard would provide. I was thinking of trying to buy a small plot of land to use that to grow out of. Thoughts and suggestions?

He actually did. He mentioned it's the same parents. Just reversed the order as in Say the pollinating parent (male to make it easier) was X and the mother. But on the other plant X was used a A Male (pollinating) Y as the female (mother) hopefully this clears it up.

I think the grower intended to name the variety like Japanese, unfortunately Katayi doesn't exist as a Japanese pronunciation and but sounds like a mixture of Japanese (Kata) and Chinese (yi)

Hello, I am Roberto who made the hybrid, Katayi is the beginning of the names of my three daughters Kary, Tanya Yinyi, Ka-ta-yi, it does not mean anything in Japanese, Richard refers only to Sakura which means cherry blosson in Japanese. (Cheers)

I know you are kind enough to share your cutting and seeds with your KZread followers. I would love to have some cutting or seeds of your yellow Ecuador Palora, Giant Vietnamese White, or Red Laverne. I will give you my address and phone number later if you have these available.
