Thing to note about Friendship parings that I think some people don’t understand. Getting Sakura to have an A+ with Hana does not automatically do the same the other way around. In fact, you can have Hana A+ with someone else first, and then have Sakura get her A+ from Hana. Or you could have Sakura get her A+ from Hana, then have Hana support up someone else until she gets her A+. You can set your army up to have everyone get new classes from A+ supports with no overlap because of this. In this way, Samurai can be considered to be Sakura’s third class with zero downsides to anyone else.

There is the pretty massive downside of having to deploy them together for at least four maps while routing in opportunities to get them support points, which is a huge pain as you push your turn counts lower and can often slow down your progress building the more important supports. The practicality of raising more than a single A+ support in addition to the S supports you're going to want to build for all of the involved parties is usually not great.

While there's a lot of things you can do with Corrin marriage, I do think it's notable just how FAST he can get married to Sakura, between getting C in the prologue and a fast support on top. If you get her in the Private Quarters just once after chapter 7 or the map after, it's possible to get Corrin/Sakura S after chapter 9, which is really funny. It's effectively just a variation on Corrin/Felicia at the end of the day, but hey, it's an option. I don't know how well Wyvern/Malig Sakura plays out since I haven't played Birthright in many years, but it's an option and should be way more straightforward than getting Super Sorc Sakura into her final form. It's also a Sakura option that should be able to get away without a heart seal, since she can just backpack Corrin for 6 rounds of combat without either of them being too negatively affected.

I would think Dark Mage would be the stronger reclass choice for her: getting magic access right away (and good skills), and bow weakness is actually a bit of a downside in lategame Birthright. Which Dark Knight does not have to deal with. Wyvern Sakura is funny though just to compare to Elise.

​@@jonathanlgill The thought process for me here is that even if flight ends up being a liability in the lategame, Sakura should have a very easy out with Vantage Onmyouji. Wyvern Sakura + Hana pairs up really well so getting both Corrin S and Hana A+ isn't an issue, and her combat should be fine in the MoA levels thanks to Bolt Axe. I don't know how relevant Trample is, I vaguely remember lategame BR having a good amount of mounted units, but her damage stack even without it shouldn't be bad. Dark Mage vs Wyvern is also a question of what's best for Corrin, not just Sakura (and I'm not sure what the answer is for BR).

Revelations is cool for her too since she can use the shining bow in her default classline for 1/2 magic damage

Shining bow sakura is so good it makes Priestess actually good for her. 1/2 Range with high might and goof magic stat. It sucks that Sakura's intended class path. Shrine maiden > Preistess, sucks so much in Birthright because there is no shining Bow in birthright.

in revelations she also starts at level 4 with D staves, +3 HP, +3 Spd, +2 Def, +2 Mag and, which is kinda impotant, the shining bow actually exists in that version. Its soo good, really :D

Its actually pronounced both ways. If you go with the etymological origins it should be pronounced the way you said it is, but 99% of people say it the way it is in the video. (Hell even the default result on google gives the qw-ix-ot-ic pronunciation)

I have a hard Classic run where my Swordmaster Skaura is soloing everything. She is high on steroids, I mean Statboosters and tonics and meals and forged weapons !

It's a bit much to ask about dlc classes, but I want to bring light not only witch but actually great lord. of course she can be very powerful witch from the onset between her growths/bases/not needing to suffer through supporting, but I think people would be surprised by great lord sakura. Charm works well with her personally to add a +2 damage dealt aura on top of the -2 damage taken, she has access to lances and swords and can easily work her way towards a bolt naginata, and her growths are just incredibly/surprisingly well balanced alongside her insane luck. It's like what draws people to samurai sakura but with more meaningful skills, better bulk, and actual lance access alongside the swords. A fun treat for those who play with dlc to try out. Her pair up is pretty nutty too offering 6 speed and 5 luck (1 mag but whatever) making her great for fixing speed. granting overkill dodge, and she can pair up with anyone really to her benefit depending on if you want to buff bolt naginata or her physical damage. Only downside is that aether doesn't work the best with bolt naginata, but she can still use it off of swords against wyverns and berserkers and stay incredibly safe/topped off.

I really enjoy playing Conquest with Birthright units. Sakura with hana's vantage and Life & Death +10 damage as a shining bow priestess is a great unit. Dont know what else to do with her in this setup to make her better. Wish there was a series of this.

I made her into a an onmyoji, magical units are always best in magic classes in my opinion. Takes the least effort and feels the most natural. She was one of my top mages in birthright when i played at launch.

onmyoji works pretty well when you are playing as a slower pace. Because doing so actually gives you enough time to powergrind her up alongside your other units. And horse spirit sakura is a thing. Still not the bulkiest unit (in part because she doesn't benefit from her own quiet strength) but she is definitely no elise. The horse spirit helps a LOT as well.

53:30 Note that Replicants don't carry the personal skill of the original, so sadly you can't double her Quiet Strength. [Edit: I stand corrected; see below.]

To be more specific, Replicas do carry the personal skills on the original, the claim that they don’t tends to come from CQ15 where all 3 characters involved have personal skills which cannot meet their activation requirements with Replicas (Corrin needs a C support, Gunter needs to pair with Corrin and the Replica isn’t Corrin) but when used in most cases the personal skills work exactly as intended, in the case of Quiet Strength you cannot apply 2 copies of Quiet Strength to the same unit because skills of the same name don’t stack, but both Sakura and the Replica are perfectly capable of applying it to separate targets.

@@Scepti Yeah, CQ 15 is where I was confused. The mechanics are confusing, though, as I don't believe Replicate-Azura's personal skill works there either. From a game file I had onhand, replicate-Jakob clearly gave the defense bonus to Corrin, but Replicate-Kana won't double-heal from equipping a Dragonstone, presumably because that would be "stacking" skills together.

I can see where this misunderstanding comes from as most fe players only played conquest and most likely didn't make Kaze a mechinist so their only experience with replicants is in CQ15 where their usage there does give off the impression that replicants can't use personal skills. A good rule of thumb for remembering what replicants can and cannot do is that they are the same unit but not the same character. They can't benefit from support bonuses and effects can't be stacked (this is why Replicant Azura's personal skill doesn't proc in CQ15 since normal Azura is already procing the skill for the same units).

I usually have Sakura D staffs in ch 5 just heal kaze untill you have 2 uses left in ch 4 Not only will kaze have C shuriken but sakura will have D staffs

I'm here after completing a Birthright Lunatic run with this idea. Silas and Sakura is a underrated pairing that actually benefits the both of them. Silas gets access to Renewal via Great Master, this is very useful for those Master Ninja Sol builds or even tank builds for him. Sakura is explained here but in short; Sakura gets Paladin and if you got darting blow via Sky Knight, you're looking at a fast cavalry mage unit that wipes the floor with everyone. She also gets Luna if you don't want to only use the Bolt Naginata. Sophie is able to make Witch work with a 55% magic growth (You'd probably have to recruit her early to mold her into a dedicated magic user) as well as a 52% skill growth so she's able to hit everything. Her growths as a witch HP: 45% MAG: 55% SKILL: 52% SPD: 65% LUCK: 50% DEF: 27% RES: 37% I;m going to do this pairing again on Revelations to see how it fares even with Silas's late join time. Thank you guys again for making me go back to Fates.

The quality of her audio is always like that...sadly.

I generally go pegasus Sakura but I've only played Birthright twice all the way to the end. The gameplay usually has me bowing out a little after chapter 20.

I'm less than 5 minutes into this video but I feel so vindicated by its existence because I made the deranged choice to make Sakura a Paladin in my first run of Birthright when it released all those years ago, and she did not disappoint. I was a genius all along.

i always give her paragon and she becomes a really good priestess, even tho they are pretty niche

I think it's important to note that Sakura could be permanently blessed/screwed for your Lunatic runs because I believe characters (Corrin and Azura are the very obvious ones) who gain XP in the tutorial (the pre-Branch of Fate maps) are locked in for Lunatic growths (Corrin, Felicia/Jacob, Azura, Rinkah, Kaze, and Sakura). I have a rolled a godly Corrin seed that I've been pulling in for years, a Kaze that gets 1 strength level up by level 14, a meh Rinkah, a fine Felicia, a good Azura, and a godly Sakura (above average Str, Speed, Def, Res) every single time with the same level-ups. I'd have to do more testing on the servant, but at least Kaze, Rinkah, Azura, and Sakura are NOT flagged as temporary party members before the split (and again, gain XP, and lock in level-ups on Lunatic) for their map activity before the BoF split. I like the Kaze marriage the best because Hana is the only useful Friendship Seal, early pairing, easy Miracle access & Good Bow-rank class for Midori.

Yeahhh I'm doing a "bronzeman" conquest run right now (I use the term bronzeman to refer to a slightly adjusted ironman. This bronzeman is an ironman where I'm allowed to save at chapters 10, 15, 20) Corrin and Kaze are godly but Jakob man Jakob has gained 1 str in 10 levels and his speed isn't much better LOL I married him to Corrin to get Malig Knight for Str+2 and Trample and he's barely usable

I've never really tried to funnel a lot of resources into Servant 1 (mainly because I play as a magical Male Corrin and he loves Felicia Maid pairup, even just to A rank, and she gets the Flame Shuriken at Ch. 12). Honestly wish Jacob and Felicia had better bases at S1 but the Dragonstone is the true Jagen.

I got to D staves for Sakura by the end of chapter 7 by using Bloom Festivals as often as possible between chapters 5 - 6. So there is some wiggle room for her to temporarily drop her staff rank to go into Sky Knight if you're determined. One question though: If she Marries Hayato and she hasn't learn Rally Luck as of yet, would a marriage seal to Onmyoji prevent her from learning Rally Luck since Magic +2 and Future Sight would have to be learned first? Or would she be better off waiting until level 10 just to avoid the scenario of missing Rally Luck?

You will not miss rally luck. Since Onmyoji is the promoted version of 2 classes she'll have in her class set, skills from both class lines are checked, with the tiebreak order going Mag +2, Miracle, Future Sight, and Rally Luck before Rally Magic can be learned.

Real talk: Sakura will always be my favourite Priestess. See, I kinda got lucky with her Luck rolls, and when the final boss for Revelations came 'round, I was a little concerned bringing her along, but I thought 'what the hey, let's bring the whole damned family on both sides, we got the room!' And because there was enough to go around, I ended up having Sakura lend her hubby (Leo) a hand with one of the big bad's claws. Said Big Bad then tried to OHKO Sakura... EMPHASIS ON TRIED, BECAUSE *THANK YOU MIRACLE!!!* She then got the final blow on that particular claw, so she's definitely in my good books.

Generally what I like to do with Sakura is marry her to Jakob as early as possible if I'm playing female Corrin on Birthright. If you want to play her as a Maid, she is like a better Felicia in some ways, and you don't have to wait until Chapter 15 to get her. Then again, if you're doing that anyway, then you might as well consider making Dwyer a second Butler and having Sakura be a Strategist. One weird thing I have noticed with Fates... Dwyer can actually inherit Demoiselle if the mother learns that skill by reclassing to Troubadour before doing his Paralogue, though he can't learn it himself because he's male. It's actually kind of an interesting combination if you have time to let them all learn each other's classes and are willing to use a bunch of seals. You could potentially get Tomefaire from Onmyoji, Tomebreaker and Live to Serve from Maid, Miracle from Shrine Maiden, and Inspiration from Strategist. If you build the character this way, and you have Sakura as a Strategist, you basically wind up with a unit that can heal itself by healing others, do serious magic damage while not taking much magic damage from enemies, move across the map quickly without the Sky Knight's weakness to bows, and seriously reduce the amount of damage adjacent units take in the first place. Plus, I think it makes it makes a lot of sense story-wise... Sakura fundamentally feels pulled between doing two things. Being a leader, as a princess, and being the best healer she can be. Shrine Maiden fits her well enough as an early class, but neither Onmyoji nor Priestess really fit with her long-term goals of who she wants to be. With Priestess, she doesn't really have the strength to use a yumi effectively, and they also don't let her attack enemies that get close, which are probably the ones she is most afraid of. With Onmyoji, she can't even reach an A rank in staves/rods, which makes it seem out of character for someone who wants to heal others as badly as Sakura does. Meanwhile, Maid lets her achieve the highest rank in staves and become a better healer with Live to Serve, while Strategest lets her both use her high magic stat on Tomes, achieve an A rank in Staves like Priestess, and also gain Inspiration which pairs nicely with her innate Quiet Strength skill. It always felt to me somehow that Sakura is more like the Nohrian class Troubadour at heart, but is stuck with the Shrine Maiden class line solely because she was born in Hoshido and they don't have Troubadours there. It's similar with Rhajat and her being a Diviner... it's pretty obvious she wants to be a Dark Mage but is stuck with the Diviner class because she's Hoshidan. I would even go so far as to say that Elise actually seems more like a Priestess at heart than Sakura does. Her stats don't really line up with it, but personality wise she is more dedicated to peace and non-violence than Sakura is, and isn't that interested in being a leader. But again, she was born in Nohr, and thus always feels useless because she isn't as good at combat and gets scolded by Xander for healing indiscriminately. Maid wouldn't make a lot of sense for a Nohrian princess... but Priestess would somehow fit with someone who is dedicated to healing and non-violence, but is a bit too spoiled and sheltered to really be about serving others. So that's kind of how I see Sakura and Elise... two princesses who might have been happier having been born into the other royal family but don't realize it because they're on opposite sides of a war.

I'm honestly a little confused on what's being meant by Rescue being the most important staff in Fates. I know it's an essential tool for LTCs, but you only get 8 rescue uses throughout the entire duration of Birthright and Revelation, and only 4 uses in Conquest. Surely that's not enough to be used consistently enough to be "The Most Important Staff" right? Even trying to LTC every chapter, you pretty much only get 4-5 chapters worth of Rescue uses (not to mention Conquest, where most if not all of your rescue staff uses are going to OTKing Takumi)

Thing with early game healers that people often overlook: if you manage your money well, the first moment you can buy heal staves, you have a level 20 unit. Sure she can't hit till you get a master seal or second seal, but that's a STRONG unit basically for free, especially in fates where boss enemies have unlimited weapon durability. Is it boring to spam heal on repeat for hours? well yeah, but the price of power is thus.

Specifically in Birthright I feel this is especially apparent because like if you want to maximise Ch12 exp and kill Garon, which admittedly does require a very strong unit to do, you will be heal spamming. It’s absolutely easier to skip that map after getting a few promoted kills and the treasure, but if you do want to go down the route of killing everyone on that map she will gain ~3 levels minimum?

I'm replaying Conquest and I have definately tainted Elise, Odin & Azura (azura in the pre route split map where you're a dragon) to ungodly amounts of exp. In the survive 11 turns map Elise was already a lv 3 strategist because I unlocked S support between Corrin and the butler, and got the child from the Arthur and Effie. Due to grinding possible in the Kana & Dwyer map if you wait long enough (reinforcements will come), I did succesfully grind in conquest and have lv18 units with great stats while just having finished the 11 turn survival map. I think Kana & Percy make a better combo than the other wyvern/ sword gal combo. I tainted Odin on the Ice tribe map against the boss and just kept healing him, and I tainted the bow guy on the map after against that boss. Conquest can't be exp grinded? I beg to differ. Unfortunately now my save file is just as boring as birthright 😢. The downfall of perfectionism...

The only DLC I ever got was “Before Awakening”, just because it was free and lets me Support grind (as for REV, I forked out for the Collector’s Edition with all three routes). But if you chose to get the DLC for that, perfectly fair; if not, also fair.

No lie... the real strategy is Great Lord Sakura.

I did that back when the game was released when I played the Revelation route (yes, I went straight to the route the game says is better to wait until you complete Birthright and Conquest) and one of the biggest ironies for me is that she carried my entire run from the start to the point that I could rely more on her than BOTH Ryoma and Xander, this shows how fun it can be to experiment with unusual setups.

I’ve never had an issue with shrine maiden sakura, mainly because of me playing the favoritism card on her and learning to route staff usage across the early game. I think she’s fine as a dedicated healer… whatever that means in a birthright context. I did have a wild time reclassing her into dread fighter on one run, and it’s also funny to see her on the front lines.

It says something about how good mechanist is that we actually need a section explaining why Mechanist!Sakura bad

And that’s why in REV, we *always* ought to do Sakura/Xander… and Camilla/Xander… and Hinoka/Leo… and Elise/Takumi. Unless you prefer any of the royals *not* to marry each other, which is also fair. But any other Hoshido/Nohr royal pairing outside of if you prefer Corrin or Azura with any of them (which is weird, but I’ve kinda shrugged it off now) is just weird to me. I mean, Leo/Sakura? Boring. Ryoma/Elise? Uhhh… Hinoka/Xander? Okay, whatever… But Takumi/Camilla?! That’s a *hard* no for me.
