If S20 can make a 5/8" -24 muzzle threaded barrel, 85 should also make it too. Just want to mount good suppressor on it but only fits 5/8" -24.

I believe Sako made a huge mistake continuing to offer slower rate of twist barrels in this rifle. They market it as a rifle that changes with you but can it change with technology as bullets get longer and require faster and faster twists? 1-11 for .300 win mag is almost unacceptable these days. 1-10 for .243 basically cuts out almost all new long range 6mm projectiles. I’m a huge Sako fan and love my a7 roughtech but Sako really overlooked a major aspect in today’s changing marketplace

As it looks like it can be fired with the butt off, the New Zealand authorities will probably deem it to be a pistol , especially if it is under 762mm or 30" with the butt off ,so we will probably only be able to dream of what may have been .

I hope the problems with the A7 stocks has been overcome. I'm still disappointed. I bought a new A7 several years ago with hopes to use it deer hunting. Well, my hunting opportunities didn't work out well. So, I have an A7 that I mounted a scope on, then shot it enough to make sure I had the scope properly adjusted, and placed it in my storage cabinet with several other firearms. This past year, I noticed the soft grip areas had become sticky. I contacted Beretta USA and they said it was because of oil particles in the air. It is horrifying to think that I can't store a Sako A7 with other firearms that have gun oil on them, or for that matter can't use gun oil on the A7. Do I really need a separate storage area for make sure a Sako doesn't deteriorate? I found nothing in the owner's manual stating that. This problem with the stock material deterioration on an A7 is, based on my experience, a design flaw. To use a material on a "gun" that becomes sticky because of "gun oil", that usually gets used on "guns" is a mistake. (I'm a design engineer that has selected materials for many applications - and I must always anticipate how the material will be used and the environments they are likely to encounter.) I have read that a competitor made the same design error, and in response to a lawsuit, they decided to replace the defective stocks. I wish Sako would do the right thing and replace, without customer cost, these defective stocks. Not standing behind the product design is the best way I know of to lose customers.

i bought one a year ago and was so disappointed in the feel of it. Reminded me of a 400 dollar Cabela rifle. The stock is so freaking cheap you can see the mold line from the injection machine. And its freaking hollow. the bolt action is nice but that horrible cheap stock looks so cheap. i have many rifles and this is without a doubt the cheapest looking one i have.

Not interested. Advertised as a hybrid precision rifle but the twist rates for all the calibers but the 6.5s are too slow to stabilized today's high BC bullets required for precision shooting, this is ridiculous. And it's not an extended magazine, it's a one size fits all magazine - one action length. You don't really get all the advantage of a short action caliber this way, very sad, even remington is able to offer 2 action lengths
