I apologize unreservedly for hi-jacking the top comment but I feel that the video warranted English subtitles for the worldwide appeal of the source movie. I elaborate on this further down below:- I understand that this is a Marathi production for 'Zee Music MARATHI' but I would have loved to understand what the acclaimed duo were saying. Seems fascinating, informative of not only technique but a different perspective and thus, it piques my interest. To this end, I would have greatly appreciated if the video had English subtitles at least if not for other languages, given the pan-India and worldwide appeal of the source movie. Also, I really liked that the juxtaposition of the two languages that the interviewees replied in. It really married into the concept of two distinct musical styles coming together so harmoniously. Now I'm unsure if having both the languages specifically to act as a carrier and reinforcement of the concept was a conscious decision, but even if it wasn't, it was a happy accident. Kudos!

Duh! India's FIRST movie to be recorded OUTSIDE with a Live SYMPHONY Orchestra is GURU (Malayalam - 1997) by none other than whom Ajay-Atul consider as demi-God. And the name is MAESTRO ILAYARAJA. Ilayaraja was the FIRST ASIAN to record a COMPLETE Symphony with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London. What a SHAME. Ajay-Atul would never have done this if they belonged in the jealous-filled Tamil movie industry. The DNA of Ilayaraja music is there in every composition of theirs! They were lucky to get a producer who was willing to spend; Ilayaraja was NOT. That is why a RARE genius like Ilayaraja should NOT have been born in this wretched country.

Please bare with my English, but i am trying to translate this for viewers other than Marathi 30 years you have dreamt of, you have seen that this is called music making, is this what is being music directors. Due to Sairat, we got an oportunity to come here, that's what pleases us Many great and superhit scores have been recorder in this Studio When composing of Yad Lagla was going on, and after listening storyline, I immediately told Atul that we must do it in symphony and in this studio only We have never learnt music anywhere. When we decided to be music composers, we remember that day and today, we thank to almighty god for showing us this day As we have not learnt music, we didn't know that like this, orchestra is conducted and we will be able to conduct it. First time I saw the score has been written in this much detail. I don't think in future, I can do that again. But, it's proud thing to be behind thr conductor as a music director. And they have appreciated that we have never learnt music, otherwise we would have been taken the same old path. Now there is a world open for us and we can do anything. Amazing players....and amazing response In this place which is so divine, in which lots of famous people have worked, and we got to work with so beautiful and talented musicians, it feels like we have seen god. The things we have only imagined came to reality. After coming here, when musicians played the scores, then after every score they used to applaud. This is rare. For us, this was huge that those international level artists were appreciating our work. And everyone was meeting us personally and saying it was awesome. Today, a history has been made while working here with all these people I genuinely and from heart, thank to Zee, that they have trusted us and because of them we got an opportunity to record here. People here, who have arranged everything for us, we want to thank them all. Not only Maharashtra, but this is India's and Bollywood's first music album which have been recorded internationally. We are going to bring it to you in first week of April through movie SAIRAT

I'm from Tamil Nadu.. I heard the sairat movie songs in October 2019. I didn't hear any Marathi songs yet before. But after hearing sairat album, really I fell in love with this music directors Ajay Atul... What a composition... Their music speaks, express love, pain, everything... Really hats off to these music directors. Music has no language, i can feel that after hearing sairat album.... Praying God that they have to compose songs for Tamil movies too....

Start with his 2 NON-film instrumental albums and Symphony Score: "How to Name it", "Nothing but Wind" and "Thiruvaasagam in Oratario Symphony". I hope you know his Hindi albums: Sadma, Lajja (Background Score), Cheeni Kum, Shamitabh, Paa etc. Then move on to his magnum opus like Guru (1997 Malayalam), KaalaPaani (1996), Hey Ram, Thalapathi, Mouna Ragam, Gitanjali (Telugu 1988). A good place would be his official channel: Ilaiyaraaja Official here on KZread.

For those who don't understand, it's Marathi, and they are talking about how they always wanted to be music composers (and they are great one), how they did not learn anything about music in school or tutoring, being self taught, the conductor told them that he is glad about how they did not learn it, as they now aren't going on a predictable path, and how they always thought how it was gonna sound but when they heard it, it blew their mind, and they are glad to have recorded the song there.

If u get ur tears out while listening to orchestra then that music is simply awesome

i am tamilan where like ilayaraj and AR rahman compositionwe are hearing..truly something his there with this music ..i am really like the soul of this sound....keep going Ajay-Atul

One of my favourite songs till date.Huge fan of Ajay -Atuls work. Love from Andhra.

I am blown away by what Ajay~Atul are doing and the fusion they have created to bridge these music styles and especially taking western classical into the mix. I am a now a big fan.

Plz don't berate this movie, by calling it a bollywood movie. This is a straight up MARATHI MOVIE. TOP NOTCH REGIONAL MOVIE. Bollywood doesn't rep India, It is our Regional Movies which represent TRUE BHARAT.

EXACTLY this always happens unfortunately,AND IT HAS TO CHANGE when the song is just normal they call it regional(tollywood,marathi,kollywood wtc.) but when it is succesfull suddenly they change it to "bollywood" Quite annoying the same thing happened once bahubali released,it was a telugu movie but they claimed for it to be a "hindi movie/in the hindi film industry" Fkn annoying bahubali,is completely a telugu movie originally, And sairat is a marathi production. periodt. the rest is to be taken care of later.

I am a music lover stuck in corporate life. Whenever I watch this video, it inspires me to pursue music.

I am a Non Marathi. Watched this film when I was in a bus from Pune to Goa. Being a Delhiite had heard a lot about the film. What astounded me more was the music and its songs. And thus after listening to its songs on KZread, landed over here. Wish whatever Ajay-Atul spoke, it had a subtitle as well so that could have understood what they said. But even then hats off to them for this awesommmmeee music composition.

prabhat rocks before utter a word make sure u hv proper knowledge about the movie and it's music ...the movie was itself a hit without music ... ajay-atul are masters behind the creation and the visualization which derived the feelings with their music ... In short music and movie both are masterpiece at their own way ...the music used in "Yad lagla" is same the music that used in opera orchestra in theatre since centuries in Britain and Hollywood is just borrowed the same ...

Ajay Atul both have exceptional ability to make beautiful music even though they never learned music. Back to back success is no joke. Plus they have given a complete 180 turn in marathi cinema. You should listen to their other songs as well.

Sairat was first Marathi movie that I watched for first time. It was a fantastic movie and mindblowing music. ❤🇧🇩

Am I the only one who fell in love with Marathi? I'm not Marathi, but proud of Ajay Atul.

This movie and these people were underdogs. Nobody used to look at Marathi Cinema. This movie and its music did wonders. I'm non Marathi but i always feel the monotony of Bollywood must be broken so that they could look around. Right after this movie they were asked to do music for ZERO of Shahrukh khan. At 2:22 he said he became from bus conductor to Music Director and never learnt music. This is what achievement is. Keep loving.
