Saint Athanasios. The Monastery of the Expatriates in Vavouri Filiates

The monastery is built at the foot of Morgana in Filiates, Thesprotia In Epirus in the green landscape with the blooming trees of nature. The exact year of establishment is unknown. It is probably not older than the 18th century, while the sources do not mention that there was a very large number of monks. It was set on fire during World War II by German occupation troops.
Access is by a 3 km bypass on the road leading from Filiates to Tsiamanda. The monastery used to be the passage of people from all the villages who left for exile and came to receive the blessing of the Saint.
