Saima Saifullah | Human Resource Professional

Saima's journey in Canada began in 2018. She holds an MBA in HR, an MS in Management Sciences, and both CHRP and CHRL designations. Upon arriving in Canada, she focused on obtaining HR designations, passing several exams over two years.
Her first HR role was as an HR Coordinator with Lowes Canada, where she learned about time and attendance management, disability management, and employee engagement. She then worked as an HR Coordinator with Fresh Start Foods, handling full-cycle recruitment, training and development, benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations and health & safety.
Saima moved to Mondelēz International as a People Coordinator, focusing on change management and culture. She worked on projects like rewards and recognition programs and led the social committee. She then became an HR Business Partner with BOSCH Canada, gaining strategic experience.
Currently, Saima is a People Operations Business Partner at Walmart Logistics, managing two HR Generalists. Her role involves working on various projects and initiatives like employee financial wellness programs, career growth opportunities, associate relations and providing strategic advice to the business leadership team in matters relating to people.
For those new to HR in Canada, Saima advises deciding on a specific HR field, gaining relevant experience, pursuing CHRP or CHRL in line with experience, and focusing on self-projection in interviews. While networking is important, she emphasizes believing in one's strengths and capabilities.
