Never did I ever think I would be sailing a Superyacht! But thanks to a wild case of serendipity, and our friend Captain Mike, we had what was no doubt one of the best (and most luxurious) days of sailing we’ve ever had!
Captain Mike is a longtime patron of ours that we got to know during our time in New Zealand. He has been the captain of DESTINATION, a 135-foot aluminum sailing yacht, for almost 20 years. So, he knows a thing or two about boats and has helped us with more than a few projects. Including installing our new sails and tramps: www.gonewiththewynns.com/curi...
We became good friends and now here we all are in Cannes, France! It’s been well over a year since our time together in New Zealand. But the sailing community is a small world (even if the boats aren’t). We knew we would meet up again but, never did I ever think it would be while he was on the job.
It was an unforgettable experience aboard one of the world’s most beautiful sailing superyachts. Thank you Mike and Sailing Yacht DESTINATION!

WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

I worked on a similar yacht. Many people we spoke to around the world genuinely questioned what we did all day as a crew, like it was some kind of holiday camp.🤣The amount of dedication, work and money to keep these boats operational, safe and looking good is another level. We ran with 7 crew, full time staff, living onboard.

Great photography. Thanks all! As for medium big monohulls, this design seems really nice. Mike did a great job highlighting its benefits at: 5:25. Builder is Alloy Yachts of New Zealand, now out of business. Built around 2001, 2002. Aluminum hull and Carbon masts. 1:20 that anchor seems really small for a boat that size. Cool retracting mechanism.

They were hoping for delivery at the end of October, but the sea trials for hull #1 (vid coming this Sunday!) revealed a few things that need tweaking, so we have another delay. This is absolutely normal for any new design and it's the risk you take when you're one of the first in a new series. The launch should happen before the end of the year though. What a fantastic cruise you guys had! It is amazing seeing a boat this size just ripping through the water. I saw a video of the sailing yacht @MalteseFalcon with its decks awash- and that is a 286 foot boat. My one question is how light of a wind can you have and still use the sails? . I’ve always wondered if money was no object, would I go with a power boat or a sailing yacht and then monohull or a catamaran. It would be a nice problem to have! Niki, loved your two lines in this video, “Feel like a little kid on a big boat, and , if you’re seeing the water in the windows of your catamaran, you’ve got a BIG problem! 😂😂. Thank you to the crew and especially the owner for allowing this tour.

A magnificent boat, wonderfully skippered and run, then the Wynn's charming skill of presenting it to a delightful balance with reality.

That was just spectacular, and thoroughly entertaining, well done! Jason and Nikki weave some sort of magic, I'll normally never watch a boat tour, but loved this. Wonderful - thanks also to the Skipper and all crew aboard, 👍👏👏👏.

Nothing compares to this size of sailing monohulls, they are just gorgeous "wushing" through the waters.

I have to say... this yacht is absolutely beautiful. I would buy it in heart beat if I had that type of money. Hands down one of nicest I've seen I love how it just gracefully leans and is not really moving much cause it's so big.
