Kilmore quay wexford has quite a tight space between inner pontoon & rocks too just as a heads up when you are doing round Ireland trip.

Hi Damien - it was 10 - 15kts W - NW so more or less bang on the stern. If you see the Red Ensign in some of the shots, it is blowing over the dinghy and into the boat.

@@SailingYachtSaltyLass Thanks Guys, I have been reading about the entrance/exit to the lough being a nightmare under certain conditions. Thanks for giving a sense of what it was like when you did it. Something to gauge off.

Our pilotage said it was best to come in with the last hour of the flood and leave with the last hour of the ebb. That means leave the marina about two hours before the end of the ebb to give yourself time to get down to Greenore Point so that there is still some ebb to carry you out.

@@SailingYachtSaltyLass Brilliant I'm going to chat to a few residents of the Marina too, it can be a very technical lough to sail in it seems. Was out yesterday for a while and it got quite bumpy with wind over tide. Out going tide and an easterly wind about 15knts. It made getting back into the Marina a little interesting. Sailing with with wind on the beam meant getting hit side on with the choppy waves so I called it a day pretty quickly. It would be great to get out lithesome of the experienced sailors to get a better sense of it. Hopefully when Corona does one :)
