I think I might have to try this one out when I get a phone...an old one. For those who have connections with the developers, can you forward my suggestion ? Thanks! Gesture nav and control center optimization. So... How about we just swipe from the left/right to navigate the entire UI? Let me explain: Being able to just simply swipe from one side of your phone to navigate the entire UI would be amazing! And I think this has already nailed that. I would love for this to be further implemented to the rest of the OS, like in Third Party Apps for instance. And how about moving the notification and control center to the bottom, like in the iPhones before? But, what I'm really curious about this is if it is possible to run SailfishOS on basic phones? Like Qwerty phones the size of the Nokia E72 with the specs of like... an iPhone 6? Dual core SOC, 512mb RAM, 4GB ROM. Because I think there's a space in this world for classic phones, and.... I'd want that, honestly.

Hey, that looks like a very user friendly experience, although a part of me still prefers UT for some reasons. Perhaps just a preference (a bit like choosing between Mac and Windows I guess?). Still, that looks very promising

It is just really hard to us in the US. MMS can't be setup and there seems to be no concept of group text message on the os.

hallo. is it now possible to upload pictures with an native nextcloud-sfOS-Client ? In the past, i have had much problems with uploads ( not downloads ) Is there a good music-player in the jolla shop = native app ? can you recomend the sony III for standard-document-fotography ? ( only for text + graphic-docs, = jpeg, a.s.o. )

There is non built-in the OS. I did not see a native client. As for good music player. I like the default one. Its good enough to play back local files. Xperia 10 III is ok for document photography.

Is your daily driver a sailfish device? Thank you! Besides the banking app, which in my case is still not working, cause the app detected that the booloader is unlocked and blocked my account, I do not miss anything from ios/android world.

@@calinutzzz My main driver (and pretty much only driver) is an Xperia 10 III with SFOS on it, not missing a lot of things. But I am not using any banking apps... Paypal works pretty nicely and the other things are done at my bank account or by card. No showstopper for me anyware but a lot better privacy and easy to access any data on the phone including system files to patch, etc. Just more than worth it, if you ask me to have close to full control over my personal data and my phone.

Sailfish looks and is promising, but it's just a playing toy for developers. There are some crucial things that are missing, for example: the three cameras of the Xperia 10 mark 3 are not available, only the main one. and the most important one: there is no Bluetooth passthrough to the android support. meaning, the android apps cannot use the Bluetooth connection of the Xperia. this is a deal breaker for me, and the reason why the phone is sitting in a drawer instead of being my daily driver.

I did not try it on this device. But the older 10 II and here it was working fine for the hardware it is running on.

Latest device supported officially is only released for 10 III

Review of an alternative mobile OS and the first thing discussed is ... Android support. Discussing the Android security patch level and a demonstration of Android apps working on an alternative OS shows the reviewer really misses the point of Sailfish OS. Also, Vulkan is not a 3D engine, but a 3D API to allow software to take advantage of graphics library features enabled on the GPU. Please understand these topics before you begin to discuss them, otherwise you are misleading viewers. I'm so happy I didn't go with the Xperia 10 iii last year, just for Sailfish. They *still* haven't got support for the phones actual features like the multi-lens camera. For me, SailfishOS will remain as a toy on my Xperia X (since 2017), until the OS can support all of the features of a flagship device from the day they announce that they actually support it.

This is not a review of the OS just a video about the new features of the OS. Regarding Vulkan you are right. Aswell as the Xperia 10 III. The 10 II is the best device currently with all supported features.

not sure why Sailfish is slower than Android and IOS at it's core. The OS is even written in c++, right?

@@drakegao816 Yes thats true. That has something to do with caching and reloading. The browser is already preloaded but Android for example does way more preloading then SailfishOS. Basically the browser is never closed. On SailfishOS ita different
