@@lowkey1969 For it to be a "parody" the original work as in the song would have to be transformative in some kind of way. Like when people take songs and change all the lyrics to something funny but keep the tune. Yes they made a new video but think how many artists songs you could have made money off of by just reshooting a video. You can tell in the description that the artist makes all the ad sense off of the video by the music in this video. That being said you tube has a broken copyright system & it's true that KZread and the internet have been ruined by by corporate sponsorships and mainstream popularity. BUT I remember how excited we all were when creators started to get noticed in traditional media & they started making millions & getting paid to do this -so like anything there is good with bad & too much growth always seems to corrupt corporations. But you can't stop progress over fear of the unknown.

I’m sure my comment is still somewhere years back. I’m happy to stumble upon this again because this is what fueled my camera obsession. I remember asking what they were shooting with and was so damn amazed. A decade after, here I am finally get to explore making videos. I’m still not good but I swear this is what sparked it.

Its been 8 years of me watching and re-watching this "un-official" version of Sail and it is still brilliant in every way! I laugh every single time!!!

im pretty sure that the orange haired girl is trying to bring the girl in the yellow hat down because of the rain but throughout the video the rain gets worse when she gets sprayed but her in the face but the girl in the hat is fghting back at the rain (or her depression) and she eventualy makes it out of the rain, so basically when someone is trying to bring you down know that you will be happy again. idk if thats whats actually happening but it seems like thats whats happening lol

Fair use rights apply to works of parody or when creating other art using existing creations. In this case, the song may be copyrighted, but they created a video which is new work, and only have the song in the background. You could still get sued and have to defend your right to use other people's stuff without their permission. But they were not portraying the song as theirs, and they didn't edit the song, so it's not sampling, which has its own laws.
