    We call it Saigon ;) Watch out for QL14 guys, being pulled over is unavoidable.

    13 minutes in, you mentioned a soft mattress being found. Are you sure you're in Vietnam? They do not have soft mattresses.

    Actually, soft mattresses are becoming easier to find. So are pizza's and french fries. My skills on soft mattress research has also improved.

    I guess I got really unlucky then. I was just there for a month. Stayed in HCM, Hoi An, Hanoi, various places on the Ha Giang loop, and Da Lat. I kept joking to my wife that the farther north we went, the harder the beds got. We did eat pizza and french fries though. @@Tigitmotorbikes

    Were you on QL14c or QL14? Did you need to get a permit to ride throug Bu Gia Map and along?

    We did not need any permits. The road seemed like a normal road with plenty of normal traffic on it.
