I agree to the down sides of a joint setup. But who's going to take care of the ageing parents if they are forced to live apart ??? Parents living with their sons is not a joint setup. They are the son's responsibility. You cannot just throw them away to live on their own. During old age, parents want physical and emotional support more than any other time during their life. Joint family system should only mean many brothers living together with their families in the same house as the parents, not parents living with their son's.

@@beingsane Back in those days, people used to live in tents and tiny houses made of clay. Whenever a child became adult, he used to build in own room next to his parents house. So in a way it was still a joint family system. Sahil has a habit of making vile claims just to get prominence among the hoi polloi of preachers.

We have hindu society not muslims society, this is why people are so attached to this joint family system, which is totally non islamic.
