In our family there has been a pound tradition of giving family jewelry and special dresses to daughters & d' in law as family vintage and for good luck. And they proudly wear on wedding occasion. More recently I'm seeing this trend growing amongst today's younger modern highly educated families - the brides proudly sporting those wearing & telling friends.
