What if the toxicity is your own elderly mother? I have taken care of her needs as an enabler for years and at the age of 63 I said no to her and now she screams at me and won't talk to me. But she tells others it's me that screams and won't talk. It's so hard bc I want her to be happy, but again she will never change. So I am changing an not going near her. Very sad
