Man, it's not even anger, but it's the hurt and sadness in her voice when talking about her job that makes it truly heartbreaking. Just a bright and beautiful person who wants to just go work and talk about sports and instead is basically let go because she doesn't wanna get political. Feel horrible for her.

I agree with both of you. There's so much sadness and hurt in her voice, as you said Michael, and it's really heartbreaking to see. She's a beautiful person and I think a lot of that comes from within, and what she was put through isn't right. Since when did sports and politics become intertwined? It's as though politics is creeping into every aspect of our lives and the first Amendment only applies to a few.

I can understand that and you may be right but sports journalists (at least those on the national level) tend to be more left wing than even your normal cable news network left wingers--Bob Costos, Mike Florio, Jemele Hill, Max Kellerman, etc. So I'm not neccesarily sure it even matters who owns them.

Sage Steele gave her views about being forced to take an experimental drug; she wanted to wait until more research info had been collected before getting the shots. That's a reasonable opinion, now supported by facts regarding failure of the drug to prevent the illness or its spread, and the many negative outcomes -- and such info was being suppressed by the gov, drug companies, medical establishment, and the media. She wasn't told it was a topic in which she must follow the false narratives, or be sanctioned. [I know a person who has gotten both brands of mR NA shots and the many boosters. I hope Sage and other courageous voices like hers are still around when future chroniclers of cultural trends look back and say of this era, "what the heck were people thinking?" when they see the things that got people cancelled, fired and worse for not going along with the accepted narrative.

Thank you sage steel you are a hoosier so am I. I have always followed your career. it's a shame what has become of this country. I moved from working in NYC back to Indiana cause you can't openly have conservative values and live there. Thanks for standing up for yourself and screw espn you'll make more money without them

"Recently, my employers at Walt Disney requested that I apologize for my previous remarks. As they have made my continued employment conditional on said apology, I therefore apologize. Some will question the sincerity of this apology, given the circumstances. But that's for each of us to decide, in the privacy of our own thoughts, naturally." I'd like to think that's all the "apology" they would get from me…but of course I don't have Sage's history with the company, public visibility, or financial opportunities, so it's for me to posture. Thank you for your courage, Sage.

I haven't watched ESPN for years outside of actual games and the MOMENT they start talking woke BS I mute the SOBs. If they force me to see it on the court like the NBA did during COVID then I turn it off.
