0:18 - That's my brother behind the delicatessen counter. He was the delicatessen manger at the Herne Bay store at the time. He sadly passed a few days ago, so I was glad to find someone had posted this advert.

So sorry for your loss. These adverts brought back memories for me but are even more meaningful to you. It's wonderful you'll always have this in memory of your brother.

Over here (in the U.S.), in 1982, the jingle was retitled "Today's Safeway: Where You Get a Little Bit More"

David Mindel produced harmonies and the voice of Lynda Hayes on this the classic 1982 jingle (the Hannah Gordon ads at the end). The voice of Anthony Valentine on the 2nd ad.
