Air India flies not just to Dubai, but to UK, USA, Australia. These new jets are for flights for the longer fleets. JFK to Mumbai, DC to Delhi etc. So the water landing instructions are relevant

That’s correct. Further to your point, water landing instructions are standard protocol. Water landings can also happen on large lakes, rivers etc. and not just on seas :)

Since the day Air India ownership went back to the original founder-owner TATA group, Ai is undergoing lots of improvements and image-rebuilding. This video / ad is one such example.

This is heavily inspired from similar preflight instructions video of Singapore airlines. It is in my opinion more creative and the safety instructions don't get lost. It is available in KZread.

The original concept is taken from All Nippon Airways - Japan advertisement of flight safety instructions and adapted to Indian culture. The original (Japanese) one is equally creative and funny too. Anyways, now you know why 65% of the Air India flights run late.

honestly, Air India's better now. Way better. I agree that the old Air India was dogshit a few years ago but Tata's taken it over and it's great now.

Many decades ago there used to be an AI ad. Two tigers are sitting in overstuffed chairs with drinks in their hands. On the wall above them is a mount of the Air India Maharaja. Just outstanding. That said, I have only flown AI when it was government run, and I had nothing but horrible experiences. Does not bode well for India becoming a developed nation by 2047.

What's the point of instruction when your company's fucking flight doesn't take off and I have to wait sitting on the runway area.

IndiGo is not the standard that Air India should be held at, considering Indigo is a low-cost carrier and Air India is a full service carrier and also India's flag carrier.

Well I find it appalling you saying you have never seen TV screens in AI. Maybe you should do a little updating. This is the new privatized. AI taken over by its original owners TATAs, in Jan 2022 One of the largest conglomerates in the world. They are in the process of a complete overhaul, that is their new look. They have in order about 480 new aircrafts from both Airbus and Boeing.
