Always loved Sade and her style. Classic, elegant and simplistic. Not to mention her music.

Yes, her music embodied her style. Thank you for watching❤
She's a Capricorn, so was Carolyn Basset, another 90's style icon. I'm a Capricorn and I adore both of these women for their style. Simple elegance and naturalness. Catherine princess of Wales is another Capricorn who just has a natural beauty and grace about her although she doesn't always do simplistic. The simplicity of Sade allows her to look fresh in many eras.

Timeless. She would look just as at home in the 60’s as she would now. ❤

Yes, I enjoyed going down this rabbit hole looking into her style. Thank you so much Britney❤❤❤
Yes, Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani had already started to pare back their designs in the 1980's, particularly with regard to their use of colour and pattern.

hi I was at St Martins Art College at the same time as Sade.I remember she was designing mens wear tailored pieces ....i bought from her a pair of beautiful Klein blue mens gloves in butter soft leather ....i wore them to a trip to Paris ....circa 1982 ...they were too big for me but loved them......(it was before Sade started her amazing songwriting /music career)

So great to have experienced her then! Thank you so much for watching❤️
Great video. Yes to your video idea for the topic of minimalistic eighties style. I know we all now like to think that the eighties was a too colorful, over the top, cheesy Dallas/Dynasty fest, but there was another side too. I was a teen in the eighties and minimalism as you correctly say, was a thing too. Armani was a huge influence to this style during the eighties, Lauren Hutton in American Gi golo movie. Jil Sander the German designer too. Brands like Esprit, Mexx (formerly Emanualle and Moustache), Sisley. But also during the early eighties you had the punk movement, from the UK, young kids who were fed up with the status quo, Vivien Westwood comes to mind and Blondie.

Thank you Anne! Sometimes I think there is even more resonance with 80s era Armani and the looks of American Gigolo along with American sportswear brands in the 80s, than even other decades. Thank you for watching❤❤❤

Great video, Mary. Thank you. In the decade of excess, Sade stood out. As a teenager in the ‘80s, I was guilty 🙋🏽♀️ of trying to emulate Madonna. At some point it hit me that “my style” was so loud that it really wasn’t saying anything. By the late ‘80s my uniform was black and white with a pop of red and red lip 💄 . It never occurred to me to thank Sade for this. She was always so beautiful and soulful, but above all calming, confident and yes, minimalist.

Ahh the 80s were so iconic. As a teen during the 2000s, Madonna was still being emulated. Yes I thank Sade for inspiring beautiful style and music. Thank you for watching Angela❤

💜😊Her style was so unique. Sort of a mix of romantic, Victorian and vintage. She designed a lot of her outfits herself. She liked lace and going to thrift stores to buy vintage clothes and making them her own. She even had a gorilla fur coat. She was an animal lover and didn't agree with gorillas being killed but she said it was already100 years old when ahe bought it.
Love Sade…voice and style

I immediately copied Sade’s style when she came on the scene, I think she was the epitome of class in a very tacky era. I still love her levis and bolero jacket look the best.
