To be honest, ratings are really not exactly reflecting the abilities of the players, but a mean to replicate most realistically the playing style of the players on the pitch. The fact that Giroud has 39 pace doesn't mean he's slow, but he's a targetman and doesn't move much, if he had 80 the CPU would have him sprint all the time, which is not realistic. Said that, a lot of players that are meta are not reflecting at all how some players move on the pitch, but that's more of a bug issue I guess

For me, Akinfenwa should have 80 acceleration and 90 physique. Instead, Wes Morgan deserves a 71 acceleration and Rudiger an 85 sprint speed. The Gabonese king did not deserve a rating drop: 67 goals. 18-19: 22 goals in 38 games. The same thing happened in the subsequent season with 22 goals, and it still doesn't matter to EA sports. Martin Braithwaithe deserves an 85 speed despite 5 goals from him. Greetings from Argentina.

@@hizzyyt Most center backs and lots of players are faster than what they fifa card shows. I will talk about LaLiga because it's what I watch but it happens everywhere. The top 3 best CB cards in the game have less pace than what they should have, these are Giménez with 69, Felipe with 61 and Pique with 58. If you look at the speeds these players run it is clear they should be faster, Giménez should be around 72-76, Felipe should be around 80 and even pique who is actually slow should have more pace at around 64-70. Pace in fifa is ridiculous sometimes and specially for such an important stat, Giroud who is really slow shouldn't have 39 of pace because In real life no one is that slow. I think that pace just breaks FUT a bit because people only use leagues who have fast and good players, that makes some leagues like LaLiga just plain bad and people use Ligué 1more often.

I disagree with this completely, they need to make CB pace more realistic not because I care about reality, but I want to be able to stop a through ball to Mbappe without spending my entire paycheck on a good, fast CB.

Akanfenwa should of had like 93 94 physical and his special card 99 physical

However, Fifa ratings are more about how players are compared to their generation than how good they are in general. Maradona was the best of his generation by far and could single-handedly carry a team to victory, but Ronaldo is the second best player of his generation.
