Myself a Marathi Manoos but live in Delhi since birth. I know Marathi very well and also can make out if the person speaking in Hindi/English is a Marathi person or not from his style and pronunciations. I have watched almost all of his films since my childhood and I am also almost the same age as of Sachin. Only during this programme I came to know of his one of many qualities like proficiency in Urdu and his perfect pronunciation in Hindi/Punjabi/Urdu/Bhojpuri. A big Salute to Sachin Pilgaonkar. My best wishes that he grows more and more in further development of his personality.

Sachin Pilgaonkar is not just good filmmaker but a good singer and a fantastic connoisseur of cinema and literature.

Addressing a great personality as 'Aurat' is like saying 'this woman Meena Kumari'. This is wrong way of addressing somebody who you respect... Don't you think so? And especially wrong way to address somebody when the language is urdu in question.

Definitely it seems awkward to address a respectable lady as 'aurat'.In any language hindi, urdu or other ,to address a great personality, there are suitable words. unfortunately Sachin has done a big mistake here, however I admire him for his talents...

Many comments I have seen objecting to calling Meena Kumari as "Aurat". I think Sachin never could call intentionally her as "Aurat" but unknowingly he might have called her like that. He is very simple and humble with NO Ego. He never claimed that he is master in Urdu and still accepts that he is ever willing to learn and will learn till his last, so guys please do not just criticize him, instead you can suggest that instead of using this word you can use these.... words which will be much better. Urdu is so rich language that a Urdu speaking person can never insult other person, so please whatever you want Sachin to get corrected the same can also be told in a much more better way. I am sure if Sachin is brought to his notice on this mistake he will surely correct it and also take care of it in future. It is only a human being who makes mistakes as he is not a god.

Urdu meri rooh may basthi hai. Mai khud ko bahuth khush naseeb mantha hoon kay Mai is zabaan ko kuch hadh tak seekh paya aur meri rooh ko shafaf kar diya Urdu nay. Mujhe 'Love' itna samajh may nahin aatha, jitna 'Ishq' samajh may aatha hai.

Apart from the unnecessary jibe on Pakistan, it was a nice conversation. Languages don't have countries. It's our shared culture & heritage. FYI, more Pakistanis can read, write and speak Urdu than any other nationality. So kindly don't preach us about Urdu.
