I believe that the key is lowered from the released version (maybe the same one Chappell Roan sang it in when she does it live? I don't have the precise musical ear to identify it). the slide note on "make another excuse, another stupid reason" was so satisfying and SUCH a good choice! i love this rendition/arrangement sooo much: from the slowed, pitched-down first verse to the picked-up, "sabrina-style" second verse; and even the first "good luck, babe" with the fun, little surprise pause. so so good 💖

it's really good to see them uplifting each other instead of rivaling! makes it feel like we ARE making some progress
