I interpreted Linus’ “lies” as a kind of self-preservation, like he’s a bit scared of what’s happening. So he tries to tell himself it’s only business, not personal, but eventually decides to allow himself the luxury of personal feelings.
The original Sabrina from 1954 is one of my all-time favorite movies, but I really love this remake too. It was fun watching it along with you! There were so many great rom-coms in the 1990s.

I adored the original SABRINA, but honestly, I think this one is better. It was Greg Kinnear's first movie role, and he was GREAT as David! So glad you loved it too! Crazy about this channel!

Im same, I love Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn and the original, but i grudgingly admit i think i like this one a little better. Its a wonderful story either way and both casts do it very well.
i actually prefer this version to the og despite loooving audrey hepburn! i just fell in love w harrison ford😭 it’s such a good movie and your reactions were so much fun!!
"Lousy. So far I'm more affected than she is. I damn near cried twice>" is my favorite line. Well, that and David's high ramblings about the dry cleaner and "little hand." Also, it's kinda amazing that Harrison is doing the glasses and bowtie just like Indiana, yet it conveys something entirely different here.

I was 37 years old in 1995 and was a "manly man". My wife and I went to see this movie because she needed to see a girly movie instead of all the stuff I was taking her to see at that time. I begrudgingly was dragged along to see this movie because I was told Harrison Ford was in it. Julia Ormond swept me off my feet. I wasn't crying, my wife was crying....that's all I'm going to say....
"As Good As It Gets" (1997) , a romantic comedy -drama, ended up with Greg Kinnear (David in this "Sabrina") receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor, one of 3 reasons to watch the film, the other 2 reasons being that Jack Nicholson won an Oscar for Best Actor and Helen Hunt (the "Twister" storm chaser) won an Oscar for Best Actress.
Love Harrison Ford...for a young, charming Harrison...I recommend the 1988 movie... "Working Girl"
What a wonderful reaction to one of my favorites. I'm a 70 year old man, and yet, my reactions were very similar. It is almost a perfect movie, all the characters, the gorgeous locations, and of course Julia Ormand. The moment she comes back from Paris she is just stunningly beautiful, and wise.
11:37 "Her voice is so good! So calming, like an ocean...actually, I don't like the ocean; like a lake *chuckle*...without fish. Okay..." 🤣
"The one that loved all the brothers." *laughs in foreknowledge* 😂😂
This is one of my favorite movies of all time! ❤ Rewatching it is like hugging an old friend. Harrison Ford is such a heartthrob even at this stage with grey hairs and all. His stoic rough exterior that hides someone who is inexperienced and stunted--when Sabrina melts it with her unabashed affection, passion for life and concern for him, it is so sweet to watch him give it away to make sure she'll be okay after what he did. And his line "She must absolutely hate me." Ugh this movie ruined my standards. Glad you loved it.
"Calming....like a lake, without fish" Classic
You are very good at this. Everyone probably falls for you with that sweet personality of yours. ❤️
Man I wish this was the first one, Audrey Hepburn is a dream.
I love the fact that you basically outlined the entire plot of the movie in the middle, all with the "can't wait to see it happen" attitude.
If you are not aware, the french character in the movies are played by really popular ( and good) french actors. The photographer is player by Patrick Bruel, one of the best french actor of the 35 last years (if they exist subbed, watch "l'union sacrée " or "la maison assassinée "), he is also a fantastic singer. Sabrina boss is Fanny Ardant, she was back then the class girl. And the annoying girl who give order is Valerie Lemercier, a great comedy actress in the 90's who played some movies with Jean Reno.
Very happy that this reaction was brought back. It's a lot of fun watching Cassie react to movies that you know she will love. Not to mention that this is a good movie too.

Cassie, have you seen Working Girl? Another Harrison Ford movie, another love story but also about being a Girl Boss!
Thank you for reminding me just how much I love and adore this movie. Although It's one of my all-time favorites I haven't watched it in years. I'm so happy that you enjoyed it as much as I do. Harrison Ford plays the perfect, clueless geek and is just as handsome and adorable in this as he is in so many of his other movies. Very squeal worthy! LOL
I think the staff loves her because they've been around as long as her father has been employed and they all think of her as a daughter. We do not know how long her mother has been gone, but the staff feels like they have watched her grow up...as family. @ 62 still best romcom ever.
Nothing like the original. Audrey was gorgeous... and her hairstyles, makeup and costumes were (and still are) iconic!
Ahhh! I'm so glad you liked this movie so much!! Your excitement is so contagious. This was probably one of the very first true "chick flicks" I ever saw with my mom, and it will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
Working Girl is another romantic comedy with Harrison Ford in fine form.

I have always really liked the feeling of this movie. I really like the music and ambiance.
Watch the original! Also Roman Holiday, another great Audrey Hepburn movie (her first and she won an Oscar for it!)
Thank you so much for reacting to this film, it’s one of my favourites and really underrated I think.
Greg Kinnear played David. It was his first major dramatic role. Before that he was the host of the late night talk show "Later with Greg Kinnear" on NBC. His format was very different from most talk shows. He'd only have one guest on, and the conversations were pretty deep and involved. He was very intelligent and one of my all-time favorite talk show hosts. He eventually left the show to pursue his dream of becoming a sportscaster. I admire him for pursuing his dream, but I was very disappointed that he'd never be on the talk show again. When "Sabrina" came out, the buzz was, is Kinnear up to pulling off a good dramatic performance? Many were skeptical. But when the film came out, he proved them all wrong. I think I was more interested in seeing how well he did than just seeing the movie itself. I agreed with the consensus---he did a great job.

Greg Kinnear was charming in this Sabrina. I'm glad he was written to be a playboy, but also more vulnerable . This David had never been married which I liked. This made it more believable when he realized he was falling for Elizabeth and got scared. He really came across like Linus's little brother who no one took seriously.
I loved how you gushed over this movie - great reactions! The cinematography is so gorgeous. The beautiful light in that final shot is breathtaking. I loved how the house staff lovingly gazed at Sabrina while she was dancing with David. It reminded me of Cinderella, and her gown was so pretty. The scenes on Martha's Vineyard were stunning. I've always loved Harrison Ford and first became a fan when I saw him in the movie Witness. You should put that movie on your to watch list.
Yes, this is a remake. Both versions star two of my favorite actors- Humphrey Bogart and Harrison Ford. The original was written and directed by the great Billy Wilder, who also wrote Some Like it Hot, Sunset Blvd., and Stalag 17, all worth watching. Julia Ormond was beautiful in this film. I had such a big crush on her after seeing this. She also starred as Guinevere in First Knight, with Sean Connery and Richard Gere. I don't know if you've seen these yet, but some other great Harrison Ford comedies I can recommend are Working Girl (1988, Melanie Griffith, Sigourney Weaver), Hollywood Homicide (2003, Josh Hartnett), and Six Days, Seven Nights (1998, Anne Hache).
This is one of the most magical, whimsical, butterfly-feeling movie I have ever watched. It's my favorite rom-com of all time. ❤❤❤

I do love Harrison in this. But the original is my fave. It was one of the very first Black and white films I saw as a little girl and the first Audrey Hepburn movie I watched. You still need to see "'6 Days & 7 nights" I think that You Will Love It !!!
Something I only noticed after having watched this film a dozen times. When Linus says sarcastically to David “you don’t deserve her but she appears to love you” this is a direct mirroring to later in the film when her father says “you don’t deserve her” and he replies sincerely “I know I don’t. But I need her, and I don’t need anything.” It really shows you his progression as a character and how he ends up on the other side.

I watched the 1995 Sabrina first, to me it was an OK movie. Then when I watched the 1954 Sabrina years later it was a great movie. The cast of the 1954 one has better chemistry
I’m not a big romantic comedy type of guy, but I remember watching this when I was 16….this and “Pretty woman” will always be my two favorites from this genre
There are so many stars in this film, it is kind of unbelievable. Especially, all the ones who were up and coming at the time and had bit parts in this
Saw it in the theatres in the mid 90s, and I have to say it's on my top five for best romantic comedies! Thanks so much for sharing. So glad you enjoyed it. 🎵😊
Awesome! So glad you got it back up. Thanks to everyone involved😊
One of my most favorite movies, never tire of it. One of the elements that makes it so wonderful is the score, by the one and only great John Williams. Get the soundtrack, you'll love it too!

It's so nice to see you excited about a movie when it ends.
CASSIE and CARLY would love to watch the original *SABRINA* (1954) because it is a classic, black and white film, starring Humphrey Bogart, whom they loved in CASABLANCA.
Yes! I love this one and the original, wish you were seeing this with your sister.
Unpopular opinion: this is my favourite film. Julia Ordmond is so incredibly beautiful and adorable and I love the nerdy yet assertive vibe of Harrison Ford’s character. Music is just lovely. The best romantic movie in my opinion.
Hearing Cassie wolf-whistle is still one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I am so happy you reviewed this!! I too am in love with Harrison. Oh he melts me. And this movie I’ve seen countless times. It’s just as good the 20th time as the first. ❤️🥰
I like both versions. The first one is more about her change. The remake is more about his change.

It was a great reaction- I think I’m in the minority in that I like this better than the original but it might be due to the music and cinematography

The plane Harrison catches is the SST….with a weird nose…it was the fastest passenger plane…if I remember, NY to Paris was just under two hours…super sonic transport…but it was super fast and cost more…and because of the cost…the plane was rarely full..and they eventually quit the New York to Paris run…it was truly a great plane…

Well, you predicted it, as you did say you're not a 'newbie' to this genre. And, to hear that Jeremiah Johnson has been suggested, I definitely recommend that one!
I watched this when I was in my teens and the watched the original 1954 and rewatching this again when I was older and both are just wonderful. Lots of cliches and stereotypes that are very apt in each time period but it's such a wonderful story. All in all, I prefer the 1995 remake, maybe because it's closer to my time and resonated more. The casting is just a home run and the humor really makes it more enjoyable. I really hope they remake this again in current modern settings.
This is one of my favorite movies to curl up on the couch and enjoy some me time.

Sabrina (Ormond) is a chauffeur's daughter who grew up with the wealthy Larrabee family. She always had unreciprocated feelings for David (Kinnear), the family's younger son and playboy. But after returning from Paris, she has become a glamorous woman who gets his attention. His older, work-minded brother Linus (Ford) thinks their courtship is bad for the family business and tries to break them up but then he starts to fall for her too.
19:58 "I am no CHICK FLICK newbie here" Like a stock picker picking a winning stock. Cassie's expertise kicks in and identifies that plot. LOL so cute.

A great Harrison Ford movie is Witness for which he received a Best Actor Oscar nomination! It costarred Kelly McGillis who was Call Sign Charlie in the original Top Gun movie!
One of my favorite movies. Loved your reaction!
I'm so happy to see you so happy! xoxo
Wow. This film is quietly amazing.
This movie is one of my All-Time favorite films! 🥰The feel of it is so fairytale-like! From the score to the dreamy narration from Julia. It's such a relaxing romantic vibe, and I can't get enough. This is also my favorite version of Sabrina (controversial, I know). I love, love Audrey Hepburn! But this version has such a unique feel to it from the original. As I mentioned, fairytale and dreamy. Whereas the original feels more like just another classic film. (don't get me wrong, I adore classic films!) But I love that the creators of this 1995 version went in the direction that they did. I love Maude, the secretary is hilarious, and so many other characters in this are lovable or funny! Listening to Julia and Harrison talk could be a whole series of movies 😍 Their voices are just amazing ♥ So happy you reloaded this! ~Caroline

I auditioned for the play version of this years ago for the role of Linus because of this movie. Nailed the audition but they cast a face instead. Eh, still a great flick!
When they want a girl to look ugly, the industry puts her in glasses. Almost like that's a big factor in how someone looks.
I think the 1954 Sabrina movie with Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and William Holden is a better movie.
This one is right up your alley Cassie! Enjoy this fine reboot! I did‼️🍿💛❤️😁😎
I have always enjoyed this version. I thought Julia Ormond was so beautiful. I also liked how Harrison Ford played Linus. It was such a difference from his normal onscreen type of roles.
That town on the water, immediately made me think of Amity harbour from the movie Jaws.
I know that many folks think Indiana Jones and Han Solo when they think of Harrison Ford. For me, though, this is one of his best, if not the best movie that he's in. Julia Ormand was entrancing, Linus was the perfect mix of likability and despicability.
