What a classic piece of drama and what a classic piece of qawali! I am happy to be a viewer of the golden period of PTV drama and writers like Ashfaq Ahmed SB. What a writing Quratul Aain......... such tragedies may happen to one in millions but couldn't remain hidden from the sensitive vision of writers like Ashfaq Ahmed. What a classic merger and display of top-of-the-line PAF jets of that time F-104 Start Fighers, F-86 Sabers, Mariges, and T-37 trainers in the closing scene.

Both the end scene of the play and the qawali of Sabri Brothers is a piece of its own class!! Maybe I was in class 4 or 5 but I still remember this last scene as a photograph and still nostalgic. May Allah bless Ashfaq Sb in highest level of Janatul Firdous. Ameen

Quratulain was the first Ashfaq Ahmed play I ever watched. I remember being left dumbfounded. I remained quiet for a long time after. I proceeded to watch all of the episodes of the original Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay. Other gems in the series include “Shana e Saba”, “Ishtibah e Nazar”, “Labbaik Labbaik Labbaik”, “Maadan e Mohabbat”, “Ajr e Aswad” and “Dada Dildada”.

Labbaik Labbaik was in a class by itself. Few years ago I noticed its copy on a Pakistani bookstore shelf. I basically snatched it. It was big disappointment when I watched it. It was not the original_ Dr. Enver Sajjad playing Molvi Karim Uddin. Shakil played Molvi Karim Uddin in the Lite version.

Actually this had been copied from radio pakistan into audio cassette in 1990s by my uncle. This is very rare and not available anywhere.
