We heared the same qawali from nusrat , aziz mian , rahat fatahalikhan etc but sabri brothers sung it much more better than nusrat, rahat and aziz mian. Infact very less people know about the fact that like this qawali of sabri brothers there are many qawalis in which sabri brothers showed wonderful performance than all other legends.

Every qawwal has had their own way of rendering it. Some kalams may sound amazing by NFAK and some by Sabri brothers and Aziz Mian. Whilst I find the composition of Shikwa & Jawab-e-Shikwa by NFAK to be amazing, the only disappointment was that he didn't cover the entire kalams in his rendition, something that this has addressed beautifully.

I found your mother's translation while I first listened to this rendition some three years back, which I felt is the best translation as it preserved the poet's thoughts and comparisons while other translators just write the meaning in their own poetic style because of which the actual picture presented by the original poem gets lost, even though the gist remains. Your mother's translation did not mess up with the original but gave the meanings perfectly which can be understood easily. That's the reason, I too liked it very much and wanted others also to see it. Indeed Allama Iqbal is a very blessed poet. His poems appear quite natural in flow instead of carefully made up like other poets do. The words are beautiful, up to the point and still have great depth in meaning and convey much more than what usually appears. I was very much fascinated by the beauty of Shikwa&Jawab (also because of this beautiful rendition) and that led me to try to understand properly what this is all about. The more I read and tried to understand, I realized that Iqbal sahb was a much greater philosopher than just a poet. He has poured in his vast knowledge and explained his own ideas in a very beautiful way and there's lot of guidance for our generation. There is much to be learnt from his poems if we try to perceive properly. In these two poems he emphasizes on own actions of a person instead of trying to reap the benefits of past actions by our ancestors. In one sentence this can be put as- we have to depend only on our own efforts based on proper knowledge and even God loves and rewards only such a person. I am not much experienced in reading his works and would like to call myself just a beginner. Upto what I have read, this is the greatest of his works. I have loved each and every work by him upto what I have read. Another favourite of mine is another small poem ' Haqeeqat-e-Husn' which I had earlier listened in the beautiful voice of Ghulam Farid Sabri and I loved it very much without even knowing who the poet was. It was only on searching about the poet after getting so much interested in the poem that I found out that it is by Allama Iqbal. Each and every work by Allama Iqbal is a masterpiece in itself and each has a purpose and enlightens the reader in some way or the other. Since I have worked on Shikwa&Jawab-e-Shikwa for two months, I can tell much more about it than other works. Anyone who spends such a time in the works of Allama Iqbal are bound to get highly influenced by his ideas and would definitely consider him the greatest and best loved poet. And I am no exception to that.

Accha gaane wale bahut ho sakte hain magar sahi tarah se inn nazmon ke mood ko capture kar usko gaane mein dikhana bahut khaas baat hai jo sirf Sabri Brothers ne kiya hai. Allama Iqbal ke farzand Javed Iqbal ne sahi kaha tha ke donon bhaiyon ke gaane ko sunkar aise lagta hai ke ye do kalam sirf Sabri Brothers ke liye hi likhe gaye hain.

Thank you very much, your words are always very encouraging. Can't say how well it came out, but I really did a lot of work for it for over two months. Did research, translated in my own words and also tried to put the original text without mistakes. For that, read the poems in English script and also painstakingly in Urdu script (yes the same Urdu script which I was not able to read sometime back, but now improved a lot just have to pickup some speed). Whatever, and even if anyone cares or not, I myself am very happy and the work was very satisfying to me.
