most early depictions of Excalibur is only Cliburn, it was only later in history and writings that their purpose was divided into two separate swords.

As much as I like Erza... she would be completely screwed if Nakama Physics weren't applied. Excalibur alone is powerful enough to totally demolish even some of the BIg Deal armors she pulled out after the Grand Magic Games arch was through. And then when you couple up the "Pointy Stick That Holds the World Together" Rhongomyniad... Arturia Pendragon is by far one of the most op characters in Anime.. (seriously, Rhongomyniad puts her up there with Goku, it is literally one of the MAJOR Noble Phantasms of Fate right next to Enuma Elish).

While true, dont forget that is a different version. That version is known as the Lion King, and there are plenty of noble phantasms that outmatch it. This version of her though is the King Of Knights, and her ONLY noble phantasm is Excalibur, an anti-fortress. It's power is equal to if not outmatched by the Jupiter cannon in the Phantom Lord ark, which Erza blocked, and she's gotten several times more powerful since then. AND she was outmatched by Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon which Erza can easily replicate as seen in the Thunder Legion ark. Erza would win that Death Battle. The real fight would be Erza vs Gilgamesh or Shirou Emiya.

@@jamessisk2013 Erza cannot replicate Gate of Babylon. The gate houses every noble phantasm and humanities knowledge. The dudes got everything from the herb of youth to a nuclear powered ship that is supposedly stronger than the U.S. nuclear force. He's got every kind of armoury that could protect him from what he wants and every weapon that every other person is weak against. Gilgameshs biggest weakness is that he looks down on people and doesn't go full out first try. Shirou shouldn't be mentioned, because while he is gilgameshs weakness, he himself isn't strong enough against anyone else. Not to mention he is set back by his magic circuits being fucked by kiritsugus bad teaching to use UBW. He still needs proper training to use it effectively without Rins help. With that said. Excaliburs blast is literally the light, it doesn't shoot, it goes at the speed of light, other than that the blast goes on an atomic level.

We couldn't easily dismissed such a legend as mere fabrication. Maybe King Arthur is real and that we foolishly easily forget this part of history and becomes a legend. Though I doubt the king is a woman in our real life lore. Perhaps in another parallel world, the King of Knights is a she.
