Information was collected from the CLG Wiki (Miraheze), Logopedia, and TR3X PRODUCTIONS' Logo History on SABC, and captures shown in this video come from KZread, Logopedia, Twitter, and Vimeo.
SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) is a public broadcaster in South Africa and provides 19 radio stations (AM/FM) as well as six television broadcasts to the general public. It was launched by the South African Government on 1st August 1936 on the radio but didn't launch on television until 5th January 1976. It is one of the largest of South Africa's state-owned enterprises.
This video was released for educational purposes only.
My next video might be an ident history on Rede Bandeirantes (Band), which has been requested by many. I've always wanted to do a logo history on Band for a while after watching TR3X PR0DÚCTÍ0NS' history on it, and it's been months since I've done an ident history on a Brazilian TV network.

The This One's for You jingle in stuck in my head.
18:52 is my favorite. The soundtrack, animation, and effects are stunning. I love how the number 3 is being cut out using welding torches.
My favourite's the TV1 idents from 1993-1996 (made during the last few months of apartheid, which were shown during the Rugby World Cup 1995, when the host country South Africa won it all), and the SABC 1 2003 idents.
Amazing!

For those saying the 2003 slogan lasted until 2007, I just want to let you know that this is a logo history, not a slogan history. Also, not everything has to be perfect. That's all I have to say :/ Not trying to be mean also.

@@gabrielsmith488 With the Stay with 3 logo on SABC3, there was Days of Our Lives, The Bold & the Beautiful, All My Children, Isidingo, 3 Talk, Top Billing, The Amazing Race, Survivor, Law & Order + Criminal Intent and also Special Victims Unit, The Tyra Banks, Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Oz, Jeff Probst and Nate Berkus shows, classic old school shows such as The A-Team, MacGyver, Knight Rider, Mission Impossible, Airwolf, Kojak, Miami Vice, Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I. and a whole lot more at that time.

@@orefiledilotsotlhe3447 the Stay With SABC3 was the first SABC3 logo I saw back in the early 2010's I was about 3 years old back then. This thought In my head might be nonsense but was there a "Did you Know" short segment on SABC3? I think there was a random robot.

Ahh yes, Simunye on SABC1. The memories!! Where they had programs such as Days of Our Lives, The Bold & the Beautiful, Mabaleng, Generations, Jam Alley, Soccer Zone, Phat Joe Show, Castle Loud, Woza Weekend, Studio Mix and a whole lot more back in those days.
cool video thank you for sharing this history something that confuses is the Chanel numbering is ther a history id love to learn about it as I did grow up in sa in the 90s and watching tv I never understood how we had 1 ccv 4 then we got sabc1 2 3 but then no 4 and a few years later we got etv I remember it was around 1996 all the channels changed I like the tube era on sabc 2 id love to see more content of the characters dub dodgy froiy im glad to have seen 3d animation of good quality of that time thanks for the upload

This video won't contain every single ident from SABC. Most of the time I pick my favorites to include in histories as well as variants from other ident histories.

Looks like you got a couple of those from my channel, but I came here cos you said logos from 1936 onward... Where's 1936? And that first TV3 logo - are you sure that's from SABC? The voiceover is in French!

It was FOUNDED in 1936. It doesn't specifically show the oldest ever logos, just the idents in general. It started on radio back then.
