5:23 "What incident was this?" Convoy ON 92, a merchant convoy, which encountered Wolfpack Hecht on May 11, 1942. The Wolfpack sunk seven ships (all merchantmen) out of 42 before contact was lost on the 13th. 9 people died, with the survivors from sunken ships being picked up by the Bury and other ships. The convoy was escorted by four corvettes, a US Coast Guard cutter, and a US Navy Gleaves-Class Destroyer. (The namesake of the class, in fact, USS Gleaves.) However, the escort group was inexperienced in convoy protection, and only the Bury, a rescue ship, had HF/DF for detecting U-Boat radio transmissions. Of the Wolfpack, all the kills were scored by U-94 and U-124, which were commanded by experienced Knights Cross holders. The other four U-boats were on their first atlantic patrol and were ineffective.

A little bit more info on the 2 u boats mentioned: u 124 was a type ix b and became one of the most successfull submarines of the war with 46 merchent ships sunk for 219.000 tonnes, 2 warships sunk for 5700 tonnes and another 4 merchant ships damaged for another 30.000 tonnes. U 94 was a type vii/c and was also quite successfull with 26 merchant ships sunk for 141.000 tonnes and another merchant of 8.000 tonnes damaged. U 94 was sunk in august 1942 by a Canadian warship and a us aircraft, while U 124 was sunk with all hands in april 1943 by 2 british warships

If you ever come to Germany, the LAST Typ VII/C-41 Boot is part of the Naval Memorial in Laboe in Northern Germany, and you can go inside for a tour

This is my favourite song from Primo Victoria album, topping even the title song ( which I really love). There's just something incredibly powerful about Sabaton and naval songs. Great reaction as always

Movie: Greyhound. A movie about Tom Hanks as a Destroyer captain in WWII fighting a German Wolfpack. It's a really good movie.

Idk why Germany gets so much crap for the U boat tactics in WW1 and 2. We did the exact same thing. It's the only way subs were useful till modern times.

Sabaton recommendation: Panzerkampf

I feel like the music video fits so well with the song that they both boost each other in how amazing it is. Sabaton usually have that combo going for them.

The main objective of Bismarck was to destroy the gathered convoy fleet when the wolf packs would attack like wolf gathering sheep. Thankfully that never had the chance to happen. Its unknown weather this tactic would have worked for the long term as it would have evoked the US to divert more serous power to the Atlantic as Hitler didn't give a dame when it came to the Kreigsmarine besides U-boats and heavy-class ships (Like everything else in the military., Worked out fine didn't it?)

Great reaction! But what it´s this music video about Wolfpack when there´s only one sub... ( cry laughing). And what I have learned about subs that they would not never go that close to battleship. Freaking Hollywood superhero crap movie or is it? Thankfully there is better music videos in KZread about Sabatons wolfpack with actual footage.

The movie is Greyhound. And not worth watching.. it's terrible in my opinion
