Both of my uncles fought in the war. One was more of a test pilot who died serving. I suspect fowl play of some kind. The other actually fought the Japanese. Lord knows what horrors he witnessed.

Ww2 being the first all mechanized war made every aspect of it that terrifying. Granted I think what you said is the scariest part. One can survive on land if we survive the initial barrage. If you survive the u boat attack, and your boat sinks, the ocean will slowly claim your soul. Never to be seen again.

U-124 was launched on 9 March 1940 conducted eleven war patrols, sinking 46 ships. She was a member of two wolfpacks The Süd (22 July - 5 August 1941) and the Hecht (8 May - 18 June 1942). She was attacked and sunk by two British warships, the Flower-class corvette HMS Stonecrop and Black Swan-class sloop HMS Black Swan west of Oporto in Portugal 2 April 1943. She was sunk with all 53 crew members.

this is one of the best intros to any song ever it hits so hard every time

The good thing about diesel submarines, is they are much cheaper than the potential damage they could cause, a single submarine can blow a carrier or battleship with a full 4 or 5 torpedo Salvo placed carefully, they have an impressive range for its tonnage and can be very stealthy if it is facing towards the ship bow on, is below the thermal layer and runs close to the seafloor, early radar could not detect periscope unless they were very close and sonar had had a limited range. They were a terror on merchant vessels which halted the allied war effort

Every history teacher should use your music as a teaching aid! So much beautiful history put to awesome music!!

Oh wow one of my old favorites finally got an official video. Now when people ask me for a link I can point them here. :) This is actually the track that made me discover Sabaton. I was playing Hearts of Iron many years ago, a Sabaton soundtrack DLC came out and I got it, and fell in love with the band. Thank you for the memories.

I swear when I see a sonar screen with blips being scanned, tensions and anxiety rise. You can never tell from that screen alone what is out there. It could be a whale, or it could be an adversary submarine waiting for the right moment to unleash depth charges upon your vessel

I love that syncopation between 569/U-569 and 124/U-124 Back when it wasnt perfectly accurate but enough, and just great Heavy Metal 7734!

So good! A song about the other submarine forces during the war would be awesome! Especially the Pacific US submarine force. There's just constant incredible stories about what those guys got up to. Hell USS Barb even launched a raid on Japan and blew up a train on the Japanese homeland.

The darkest days can become the brightest when Sabaton releases a new lyric video of an old song

This song is friggin' awesome! I remember listening to it once before a while ago, but since it didn't have the lyrics on screen, I didn't enjoy it as much because I like singing along in my head. I just kinda forgot about it until now, and now that I have listened to it again, I can confidently say that Sabaton NEVER misses the mark with their awesome Navy songs.

This is my favorite song from Sabaton ! Obsessed with it since 2019, still in love with it after years, and the way it sounds. I've always considered it's criminally underrated, and I'm so happy to see my favorite songs getting lyric and music videos. They really deserve more because jesus, this is one of the coolest things this band has given to us. To me it's a masterpiece, and I love the clever way used to incorporate 569, 94, 124 and 406 into the lyrics. This song is the reason why I basically know everything about wolfpacks...
