This makes me wonder if pop-songs with Sabaton-texts would be as popular as pop-songs with pop-texts (i.e. whether the lyrics even matter to the normie-pop-audience or if they're just happy as long as there is a beat).

@@scarlocnebelwandler1253 Well, lyrics do not matter to me that much, but still, I would choose Sabaton over the other songs in the video. It is just how the music make me feel. And I guess it is similar to fans of pop-music. And some, I guess they just do not care as long as it has some beat as you say.

All modern music has one of four messages. “I am an alpha male” “I am depressed” “I am lonely” “I am in love” Sabaton is none of these things. They sing about the most badass moments in history. More artists should follow in their footsteps and experiment with the subjects of their songs.

To this point, my favorite Sabaton song is about the Unkillable Soldier; one of the bravest soldiers in the Great War, and maybe of all time. If you love a song about something negative (ie missing your ex) and you listen to that over and over, that only reinforces your longing and depression over what was lost- in my opinion. Whereas if you love a song about a hero from the past (Unkillable Soldier, Audie Murphy, Bull, the Hellfighters, etc) that can serve as an inspiration for yourself; even when you're low, you think "if the 369th lasted for six months in utter carnage, I can get through this".

@@josephbolcome5462Not to mention, some of their songs have heavy messages that are relevant right now. In the name of God is a good example imo. The message is about extremist terrorism (especially 9/11) and it's devastating effects, with the lyrics coming from the perspective of those that oppose it. It's controversial yea, but it does hit hard in these times.

It's great as a question, same with Epic Rap Battles of History, but saying it's better than actually studying history is just wrong. I like Sabaton, but they undoubtedly speak from a European/Western perspective and bias. To really understand history, you need to study all history and perspective. Otherwise, you are doing both yourself and the people who lived then a disservice. That's not even mentioning that the vast majority of their songs only cover battles or their wars. Those are a part of history, yes, but it isn't the only thing. The best thing about them is their tendency to shy away from Great Man history.

That’s because good Metal actually takes a significant amount of time and effort to make. Rappers can just generate some bass beat on a computer and have generic lyrics over it with some dumb sampling. Sabaton is awesome but they will almost never be recognized in the mainstream because the mainstream have pea brains that can’t understand any type of music other than glorified pop music. Take a different band like Nightwish or Avantasia for example. The amount of layers in the songs are insane. There are tabs for 13 different instruments for “The Scarecrow” by Avantasia. Most people are too dumb to be able to comprehend the complexity of Metal and therefore entirely disregard it.

For the “Bad Guy” question, this is a genuine answer. In the Midwest of the US (Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota) “guy” is generally used and understood to be genderless, like “you,” but not gender neutral like “they/them.” That is of course unless someone directly refers to a male (he/him) as “guy,” then it is understood as masculine. TLDR: in the Midwest USA, “guy” is more often than not used without a gender assigned

The thing i hate about modern music is the fact its all digital this also means everyone can pick it up easily but sabaton alot of the uses actual instruments and therefore it makes it a wonderful piece of art where modern music your just assisted by computers and i dont feel like its art
