Mainly about the Polish resistance's fight to free Warsaw in Poland. Just watching that crowd and performance always gets me. Love it. This was at the "Polish Woodstock" Festival. Depending on what you read, there were anywhere from 500K to 700K people at it

The war ended 45, and one should always look into the history of Sabaton songs, this is about the Warzaw Uprising when the Allies turned their backs on Poland leeting them fend for themselfs. No to be mean or anything, but as a britt one should at least know when the war ended ;)

Yes it is Polen and the song is about the polish resistence so that song probably means much for the crowd. The war ended 1945 btw

WWII ended in 1945 (May), not 1944. 1944 was the date of the Warsaw Uprising, which is what the song is about.

The song is about the Warsaw Uprising. Basically Poland was screwed by everybody, and had to fight off the Nazis without help from the Allies.

@@corinna007 Naziste had support of about 70% Germans (its not possibile to lead TOTAL war without support of almost all society) any way in Poland during the War was many places with tables "Only for GERMANS" not "Only for Nazist".

I DEFINITELY recommend watching their Sabaton History videos, especially about this song. It will hit you entirely differently. Also for the song Inmate 4859. Sabaton tells the horrific history of humans through their incredible songs.

No, no, no... War ended in 1945. Warsaw Uprising started in 1944. Germans were already escaping before Stalin, but when the Uprising outbroke, Russians stopped at the other side of river Vistula and watched how Germans completely destroy, annihilate Warsaw. Uprising wasn't successfull.

Nah, I think Warsaw was something else from anything in world war 2. And the Russians watching... I visted the city a few years ago and it really hit hard. What they endured...geez. To see the Polish crowd shout out the chorus is more than just a crowd. I am wondering if this is famous by the public in Poland though?

Reading comments seems like people do not realize what 'the allies turned away' refers to. Yes, Poland was abandoned completely by UK and France (it's allies) at the start of the war. However when it comes to uprising, it happened after Germany started getting rekt from every direction and this particular line refers to the situation where soviets (considered allies at that point) stood outside Warsaw and did not enter the city even though uprising was timed so it would be happening as they arrive. Soviets instead stood outside, waited for German army to kill all the civilians (women and children to) and whoever else fought in uprising and then retreat and only after that Soviets entered Warsaw calling themselves liberators in the meantime looting everything and raping anything that moved.' And yeah man, seriously, get your dates right... To not know when WW2 started and ended is shameful.

Poland was, is and will fu... Ing from East, West, and sometimes from North and South. Sad but true.

AND, children and women were "dying side by side," because children as young as 11 years old were fighting Germans (and were executed by them) during the Uprising.
