@b4yn As of the context to where this verse applies, nope, God told Israel to surround Jericho's walls and the walls collapsed. they were victorious and took occupation of the land. While they were trying to expand their territories, they lose against a tribe called Ai, but that was because one guy broke one of God's instruction. After that problem was solved, they went back and conquered Ai.

They Slaughtered, and sadly were slaughtered. Unfortunately that's the truth, a small force can hold out for a while, but not long. The Battle of Wizna is another great example, 40:1 was actually made on it, where 750 Polish troops held off over 40000 German troops. Even with the heaviest fortifications on Earth, no one could last indefinitely, even if for the scenario they had a self-sustaining fortified bunker as well. It's literally impossible.

When I was a wee lad I felt I had a calling to serve the Church. I knew I didn’t want to become a priest since even at a young age I knew I wanted to have kids someday. Then I found out about the Swiss Guard. They paraded around in cool uniforms wielding halberds and uzis. That was going to be my path in life. Then I found out you had to be Swiss to join and just like that my dreams were shattered.

It's the music and the subject matter. Part is the "church chord" (I think it's lots of playing around with Dominant 7ths but my music theory is a bit crap these days) harmony running up the major scale followed by the key shift from the song noodling back and forth between g minor and B flat major into I think C# major. Sabaton does a lot of slick things in their music.

@@loliclickbait591 The battle of Ivry for example when the catholic army was defeated by Henri. His men wanted to attack the last units standing, the Swiss. But a general of Henri refused to charge them because they were elite units who would have dealt too much damages to his own units.

This was my very first Sabaton song, when I first heard this in a meme I tracked you guys down and became a huge fan.

Sabaton: Showing History is cool with metal since 99.

I´m a History teacher, and not only that, I teach History in English, which makes it harder for my students to understand, as they are not English speakers. Therefore, I have been matching your songs with the lessons I have to teach, as I´ve discovered is an excellent way to make my students remember and learn, plus exams are way funnier and less stressful with metal music blasting (well, moderately because the other teachers tend to complain). 8 out of 10 of my students end up being your fans, and they made me promise I will take them to one of your concerts as some sort of school trip... so, let me know when you´re coming to Mexico as I have some groups to take!

One of my buddy's used this song in their videos this is my first but I love it

For some reason, the song speaks to me on a deep level. I guess it has to do with how there were men able to hold such faith within the Lord and to be able to fight courageously against the odds. Something I certainly could never do.

Nothing wrong with wishing to spare yourself. It's natural instinct. Sometimes, it's even necessary. However, to die for a cause, for a reason, is noble. I think everyone has it in them. They just aren't aware of that courage.

When you wear headphones, you can hear every single small detail in this song. I really advise you to listen to all Sabaton songs at least once with headphones.

That's cool bro, this song is about history more than religion, the event just took place in a religious place thats all, you can enjoy the history no matter what religion. I'm an atheist and this is my favourite song.

This is the first song i heard from sabaton and the sone that got me hooked. My oma (grandmother) walked in and i said "hey you gotta listen to this!" (Shes a metalhead too) and fast forward to now we might get to see our first sabaton concert. You dont just entertain and tell stories, you bring people together. Thanks and happy 25th anniversary

I was at the Sabaton concert two nights ago at the PlayStation Theater here in NYC, and you guys were... **********SPECTACULAR********** I'm always envious and in awe of people who can write music and songs but even more so when the lyrics are as well-crafted as these are...very creative, eloquent, and intense.
