It might help to understand that this is the second song from their album "The Art of War" where each song is about a real event that illustrates a chapter from Sunzi's The Art of War (孫子兵法) The second chapter is called 作戰 (waging war) so they chose the German tactic of "Blitzkrieg" as their example of waging war. The other tracks from this album are linked by Sunzi's work.

yes, ww2, specifically the armour spearhead, then you have "Resist and bite", about a few men holding their line against part of that very german force for waaaay longer than they should have been able to.

The "Ghost Division" was the 7th Panzer Division under command of Erwin Rommel who was part of the German force that entered Belgium and then France. It moved forward so fast that the French high command and sometimes even the German high command could not keep track of the division. One day it was on a specific place and a few hours later it was spotted 100 km away already. Because of that the French gave it the nickname "la division phantom", "the ghost division" because they appeared and disappeared so suddenly on the battlefield, defeating all the defending troops in their way. There is a great episode about it on Sabaton History (www.youtube.com/@SabatonHistory ) where the band and Indie Neidell (an american-swedish historian) talk about the song and the history it is based on. They have specific episodes for almost all of Sabatons catalogue there.

I can only agree with all of this. I recommend continuing with Bismarck, 1916 or Christmas Truce (official music videos) for start
