One was part of the 1.8 million captured and taken to a Stalag, the other had to live out the Occupation in hiding because he was Jewish. a little story I got: it was the night before my computer exam, I was going to sleep and just lying there, worried that I hadn't studied much. I think the first song I heard was attack of the dead men, but I actually thought that was a song from a show or something like that. Then I heard Bismarck and thought "wait wasn't that a actual ship" so I looked further into it and I was actually disappointed at first and I didn't like it at all. But sabaton has songs that grow on you. The first song I actively listened to was the red baron, then shiroyama, then No bullets fly, and it just rapidly expanded from there.

There is "good" in goodbye "Hell" in hello "Lie" in believe "If" in life "Over" in lover ...but there is no "end" in Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf.E (Sd Kfz 181) Tiger

Imagine handing someone a list of orders for the next year or so, they look at it and ask you what they're supposed to do with the 11 months spare.

Can't unsee what someone said "They are the French Elite never compete, born to retreat".

The most intense song to lose a war to.

You know when song is good when it has some meaning or illustrate some parts of history and still manage to be good and enjoyable after all this time

I paused this song right before the chorus to talk to my sister and I forgot about it. When I hit play I get blasted with “THEY WERE THE PANZER ELITE BORN TO COMPETE NEVER RETREAT” and I head banged so hard that days later I’m still in pain.

@@010Jordi I don't like to get into petty nationalist squabbles. HOWEVER... Alsace has been part of France since Louis XIV (1680s), and Lorraine since the 1760s. Before that, they were part to the Holy Roman Empire, and thus not under any central authority from a German state. They were German for about 51 years total since 1871.

@@samrevlej9331 yes I've made a mistake In the language I used and one I don't like because I'm both catalan and Dutch I'm germanic but not German just like alsace-Lorraine you could say the French are germanic too but we don't look at them like that to much Latin influence the English are only more difficult I would say they are but some say too much French influence

I still remember the moment when my history teacher in highschool played the "uprising" during class. She's an elderly woman.

Honestly this piece of music probably has influenced me the most of all songs. When I first heard of this I really got into history and the stories of people of the past. First it was of course the WW2 era, but then the areas I was interested just grew, and now I am fascinated about the whole history of the world and how the decisions of some people affected the creation of our current world. It has grown so much that I am honestly thinking about going to go university with the goal of studying history and graduating on that topic. So thanks for making these songs. Literally changed the course of my life. 10/10 would recommend.
