Hi James. Thank you for an excelent video. I'm surpriced that no one have commented and honered your video already, because this was a huge help for me. I'm into this job myselfe right now. A little sad you also did not cover also the disassembly of the hand brake lever. I assume there is also a rubber seal behind it. Mine is not leaking, there, but I should like to replace the seal now when I'm into all the others. I should realy like to know how to pop the smal lid for the handbrake lever. If it is possible to open it and reuse it, or if it has to be replaced by a new lit...? If you visit my channel, you will find a lot of my Saab repair videos, and more videos is about to come. Regards Terje

Thanks a lot for taking the time to do this James, very informative. Any advice for replacing adjustment gears which you already know to be stripped?

Yes, you need this www.ebay.com/itm/372717315213 It’s longer than the original and the 14mm dust cap won’t fit. You could stick a 4mm Allen key on it and use it for handbrake adjustment, and then remove it for safe keeping until the next time you adjust it. It’s not needed in normal operation of the handbrake or brakes.

@@jameswwchong thanks, I suppose it could be cut down. Strange how I can’t find new ones, they’re obviously being made somewhere for the refurb calipers?!? Perhaps I’ll enquire about getting a batch made.

Yes, they used to sell them new but is sadly NLA. The Mazda one fits except for the length. As I said, they don’t play a part in normal operation and don’t need to stay in the caliper once it’s been adjusted.

Excellent video, James! Do you have a part number for the O-ring seals or a link for the rebuild kit?
