I just installed it in mine. Didn't need to disconnect the pedal completely, just the pin. Reconnecting the line to the end of the pump was the toughest part, it just didn't want to line up and screw in. Thank you Tarje for the video was great help!

Yes, I did take out the pedal because I had to repair the hole in the pedal for the bolt between the pedal annd the pump rod. The hole in the pedal, and in the pump rod was become bigger and oval of wear.

Did it the other day leaving the knee bolster in place - it can be done but it is a PITA... Great trick blowing air through the vent hole! Will remember that one for next time.

For my cylinder I had to replace it because the piston end was snapped of at the eye joint, as is an very common issue. If your cylinder is just leaking and your cylinder is still the OEM Saab ones, you can actually open the cylinder at the top by turnimg the top cap a 1/4 turn or so and the cylinder will open and you can go and find a same size O-ring as the one around the piston and replace it. You then also ned to unscrew the eye joint from the piston rod for to get the O-ring off/on. You still have to remove the system from the car for to blead the air from the oil propperly.

@@tinamccallop1887 Sorry, but now I see I have replyed to you about wrong problem. When I replyed to you I thought this was my video about the hydraulic system for the convertible roof. So that last extra explanation was not adequate for your clutch problem. So just stick to the directions in the video. Only advice from me is to buy a brand new master, not reolace it wit any used one you dont know the condition of. Good luck. 😉👍

I'm not changing the pump but how often does the clutch fluid need replacing? MY 1991. Problem is I don't have my car's full service history. Last year I replaced an original fuel filter, it was as old as the car.

I do not remember how often to replace the fluid. Maybe is is written in the service manual for your car?

I did this as well without taking the knee pad in place. It's a little trickier to take out if you have the EQ in the console. Mine was a 1990 C with ABS. My only advice , because this will save anyone else a lot of time. Take the front seat out so you can lay down and look up. Like the guy comments, it is a pain in the a$$ but can be done.

Then I believe you have an older car then me.. My 1992 have airbag, and those have a kneebar that is wider then non airbag cars. It goes longer down to the pedals, so it is more tight to get to the master.
