Not necessarily. KZread has been recommending a lot of short videos recently on their new short videos feature. Videos that had little to no views 7 years ago are getting recommended all of a sudden. Also, KZread's algorithm is incredibly complex. It isn't that KZread recommends more long videos, it just prefers them over short videos and they get more ad revenue because they keep users on the app longer. Watch time is also a big factor as well. You can have a 2 hr long video, but if people only watch it for 5 minutes, KZread won't recommend it as much. Look at the dream manhunt series. His videos go for 45 min to an hour and still hit trending because everyone watches from start to finish. It all depends and there are a lot of factors in play to recommend videos
