This car is a mad classic

Man.... the sound you make for the videos is just AMAZING! I got no words.... Your channel is the very first I see on youtube with that sound quality. I mean..... the whole range of sounds, especially that bass. Man, I'm sitting in my headphones and I can't believe it's a recorded sound. I feel like the low frequency literally vibrates in my head like i'm sitting in the real car. That is... just AMAZING. Also, the picture quality is awesome. The camera shaking looks so natural. The overall experience - is like i'm sitting in your place and drive the real car. Thanks for your job! I wish car simulators on PC featured that kind of sound and view angle lol.

The shortlist of mods: S50b30, us spec with raceland headers and a euro super sprint exhaust, intake, pulleys and a tune. Absolutely LOVE this build. For highway cruising, the shorter final drive may not be ideal, but for everything else, this is a blast! The raw driveline noise reminds me of my outlaw 911

you should listen to the proper M spec engine which is the euro S52B32 unlike the US spec, cause 36's in US came with a normal 3 series engine just upgraded a bit and slapped Mpower writing on the head, lol this "S50BB30" is shit compared to the real and proper euro spec engine

Was waiting for that tail to step out. Beautiful car. I have an e36 m3 and love the drivetrain. By modern standards it's not fast, but the kid's right, it feels raw and as a consequence it gives the illusion of speed. And the sound. My god the sound. These engines are screamers. I daily a b8 s4 - which is a fine car and objectively better in every way - but in terms of fun there's just no comparison to the og BMWs.

John Smith no it wasn’t. If that was true then every e39 5 series would have an m3 engine. Nor is the s50 a high performance version of the M50. Its a different engine with a different bore and stroke! The only similarity is the number of cylinders.

Ok, nvm, I just found out the S50B30 had two versions (Euro and US), but the S50B32 had only the Euro version and the S52B32 had only the US version.

I kinda just fell in love with the concept... Really light & probably not powered anything. No power steering, manual sunroof, manual tranny etc. But runs like a champ

people rag on this engine, I had an e36 m3 and its a killer STREET engine. plenty of power and took all over the rev range. that being said I like my k20z3 even more as a street engine.

I have an e30 m50 with getrag 260 and 3.73 lsd final drive, its a beast.I intend putting back the zf 320 trans , did it once indeed that trans came with the engine and it was serious,the 3.25 FD turns it into a monster on the highways but the current 3.73 which is lsd with zf trans makes it a zippy machine and not too bad on the highway, i wont be doing over 160 km/h anyway which is between 3500 to 4000 rom at 160km/h..With a combo of Getrag 260 + 3.25 lsd i turn 3000 rpms at 160 km/h , good for highways but a pain in stop and go traffic.

Its an s50...the oil fill is toward the firewall. The s52 is towards the timing gears.

I'd have loved to, but when someone is generous enough to let us drive their prized possessions, it is important that we treat them nicely. That being said, you're often seeing us drive these cars for the very first time so we are getting to know the car throughout the video.

Timothy Headley It’s pretty great and things are really easy to fix. I’d highly recommend I’ve owned 4. Mod bug can get expensive if you don’t have a plan.

E30 is super light in the rear. Especially with a big 6 in the front.

Nice ride. But with a speed limit it doesn't have any fun. In Germany we can drive as fast as we want. So come to Germany and test here. I guarantees that you really enjoy that :-D I adore the E30 but only the touring (wagon)

Sounded like transmission. You're probably hearing it because the interior is stripped and the transmission is nearly exposed.

@BarbarossaBMW88ϟϟ no. Tires make the biggest difference for wet traction. My E46 M3 doesn't break loose in the wet and neither does my E36 M3 unless you just dump the clutch from a stop.
