S3E7 Australia's Future with Tony Abbott - Misinformation smokescreen for social breakdown
Former Prime Minister and Distinguished Fellow of the IPA, Tony Abbott, and the IPA's Deputy Executive Director discuss the government's proposed internet censorship via its misinformation laws, the shortcomings of the government's Future Made in Australia plan, and Tony shares with us his perspectives on the future on the centre-right in Australia and across the Western world.

Another great episode. Enjoyable to see the thoughtful and persuasive Tony. Very glad he is continuing to contribute to public life.

100%...and here is Tony supporting it because he has to align himself with party views. Absolutely disgusting.
Another example of 'you don't have to like a person, to agree with him'

Oh yes Marxist preists of the Church of Situational Ethics are more admirable than a practising Christian. Tony is a 100 x more likeable than any Labor drone.
Wow, how Australia 🇦🇺 has changed over the decades. When I was at high school back in the the early 70'S NO ONE could bring a calculator to school.🎉 we had to use our brains, and critically thinking skills.

And how did that go? Look at the boomers think? They listen to David Koach and watched football sinking beers. Your generation has stolen from the ones below. The poor kids of this future deserve us to fuck off.

critically thinking is phased out here and in Germany Europe, etc. etc. If you display that skill you need to be careful soon! The numpties running Australia would recognise critical thinkers as a threat.
We need our news to be free from any government intervention . That said like all retired politicians they have had their chance but failed dismally , Nothing they can say will be helpful only hinderance .
What utter garbage from a failed and disgraced has been Prime Minister. IPA should be ashamed.
Great show 🎉We the Australian people must push back against this treason 🎉
Excellent, rational conversation. My main issue is Tony’s insistence of preventing anonymous posting. You NEED to be able to post anonymously so that you can have your say on issues and engage, and without risk of losing your job or the like. Other than that, much to think on.

How will approach the drug problem in Oz? It's killing the nation directly & indirectly.
Enjoyed Tony A on Triggernometry this year on the BS of Climate Catastrophy - here he seems more political in his answers - . Why do we " have to be careful not to have a moral panic "?? Moral action moral spine - we can do with more of that - if a Pastor or bishop being stabbed by a Muslim is hushed up and hidden away - we must act - and speak - . That stabbing of a bishop had everything to do with what Australia use to be - a people who knew right from wrong - and believed in God. The Muslim who was accepted in to Australia, had contempt for it and for christianity. Totally unacceptable.

We need Tony Abbott to be heard more. So much common sense and great morals.
we need to see it all to deal with actual issues. No more censorship. No social media for under 18!
Julia Gillard is CRYING right now knowing her speech did nothing 😂
That is the man who put Pauline behind bars. Glad he's not PM anymore. I thought he went back home to England?? What happened, how did we get him back again?
I would delighted if Tony Abbott would join One Nation. Imagine where our Country would then 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
One Nation I will Vote for next election. …however to get any where we need Clive Palmer Party to amalgamate with One Nation.
I heard Tony Abbott signed Australia up to the Paris agreement
Many Australians admire you Tony….a Bastion of Conservatism.
Does anyone do a business case for these projects and what happened to procurement policies?
Anyone know where i can watch Pm Abbott's recent speech?
Hasbeen Abbott has no future in Australia. Neither does the IPA. 'There is nothing public about the IPA'......!

Because Albanese sometimes stumbles while trying to improve Australia, some people seem to be saying 'neofascism might be better'. At least Pauline Hanson has red hair. But I do not know what Peter Dutton is thinking. - kzread.info/dash/bejne/h4Wkmq6jZ822prQ.html

OMG Tony Abbott is the one person that changed the way I had voted since 1972 when I was able to vote. Until then I always voted Liberal. When Abbott became Prime Minister and Peta Credlin his chief of staff we got two lunies who had no idea how to run a football raffle let alone a country. What made me mad was the party did nothing to rein this idiot in. there fore it was up to the party voters to either vote Labor or independent . Turnbull was a good PM but not a puppet like Abbott, and Dutton is a fool but like Abbott makes a good puppet for his masters. If a party goes too far right or left they will fail, unfortunately the Liberal party has not learn`t that lesson from the last election. Until that changes my vote will go to mainly independent`s or God help me Labor. The majority of Australians whether you vote Liberal or Labor are either left or right of centre so not much difference between the two. That`s why we have had such great Governments over the years both parties. Yes both have made mistakes but we still live in the greatest country in the world. Any wonder we have people risking their lives to get here. And we still have the Tony Abbott`s of the world whinging.
No, Oz is not the greatest, it is in the top five per cent of great nations.
I appreciate the IPA including its mission statement in the title.

To regain credibility Tony needs to apologise to Pauline Hanson for his role in getting her gaoled when she and her One Nation party were a political threat to him and his party at the time.
Victor Orban 👏👏👏. Putting Hungarians first.

Vote for One Nation. Pauline Hanson has a healthy vision for Australia. Couldn't get any worse.... might just get a whole lot better.

Tiny is mot the person you go to for forward thinking 😅
I used to like tony, he says a lot of sensible things. But joining in the call for online censorship he's revealed his true colours. I have nothing but contempt for these WEF stooges. I was pretty put off the liberals over recent years, but he's basically sealed it, I'm never voting liberal again.
He identifies problems adequately, but most of his solutions are bad, especially regarding anonyminty. Banning internet at schools-yes.
How do you say you’re pro-dictatorship without saying it… Seriously Orban????
Again, some of what's been discussed makes sense, but banning mobile devices is not the way to go with children. Educating them, which takes time and effort, is the way to go. A ban will only drive kids underground and in the end the temptation to get a device will be even greater. It also removes parents from the discussion about this very important step in life, learning to use these devices responsibly.
Like the "knee jerk reaction" to covid!

The WORST PM Oz has EVER ENDURED!!! Always on the ‘wrong side of history’, a known hyper misogynist, whatever he has to say is total bunkum!!! Lauding Orban, the dictator of Hungary, is so typical of Abbott……not a good spokesperson, ( STILL saying’Um’ when speaking 🙄) and responsible for pushing ANY vehicle manufacturing out of Australia, his ideas are worthless, and he is an embarrassment!!
Hes sprooking Digital ID. Paving the way for social credit system. What a shill.

Are you for real?
Abbott couldn’t be more right, liberalism and conservatism work together. ‘Progressivism’ which really means collectivism and ‘libertarianism’ which really means unrestrained freedom resulting in tyranny imposed upon the economically weak. Liberals and conservatism must band together, not act as though they are fundamentally at odds, because they’re not.
21:00 Nope! You lost me when you called for the abolition of anonymity on line. And no, I am not an apologist for “hate speech”, violence or depraved material online. What Mr Abbott isn’t factoring in, is the forcible imposition of Political Correctness on everyone. Please allow me to explain. In the golden days of freedom in the 1960s and 1970s, your employer didn’t really care about your politics (unless maybe you were an ardent Marxist-Leninist calling for revolution). You opinion was your own, and what you did out of working hours was pretty much no concern of your boss. That has all changed. People can and are losing their livelihood because of their social media content. People are facing jail time because of tweets. I am sorry, Tony, but you are arguing for an “own goal” for the Centre-Right. Hint: it won’t be the Marxist, extinct rebellion fanatics, the Critical Race Theory advocates, the angry proponents of intersectionality that gets silenced (or sacked!) if anonymity goes. I am a former office-holder in one of the biggest Lib branches in the country but I work in a super Woke organisation. I’d face the choice of being silenced or being unemployed and so would thousands of we covert Liberal-Conservatives.
Abbott's comment about not being allowed to comment anonymously online is very concerning. This is a tacit endorsement for digital ID, which is a red line that should never be crossed. ❌
he lost me 100% when he did the classic grey haired poisoning thing of saying you "shouldnt be allowed to be anonymous on de internet" like that is even possible... sad

What the gutless can abuse with anononimity? Really, a fascinating view!
That background setting is off-putting and distracting. Get a professional too create a proper stage. As an ex art director for feature films and TV here and overseas I can tell you you're letting the quality of your guests down by putting them in such an amateur stage setting. Very off-putting. Simple tip. Leather bound books always look better than cheap statues and Bric a brac
Keep fooling yourselves 🤣
