I did not know, much less appreciate, this kind of scenery, and these kinda river marinas, were around me in the southeast. This area has always been flyover country for me...at either 8,000 feet in the Baron or Flight Level 280 on a commercial flight (westbound). Gotta understand, for the pilot in me, I'm always wishing I was on the water when I see the waterways from altitude. For the boater/sailor in me, when I see an airplane overhead, I always wish i was up there goinhg to far flung destinations unknown. Thanks for the ground (or river) level scenery for this mixed up pilot/sailor/boater kinda old guy!! Vessel captains and pilots in command have a lot in common ( a really lot!).

Cuba Lamding is one of the more challenging marinas to enter and exit, the channel is extremely tight!! Been there and done that! LOL. Pickwick is just ahead and is beautiful as beautiful as well.

The good thing was no harm, no foul - and you are right, as Captains we all have to make the best call for the vessel, and conditions, and if something sounds wrong, in our opinion then we have to go with our gut feeling and do what we think……glad it worked out, thanks for the video

15:38 my hand built boat was on dock 2... Great morning,,, beautiful pup. I keep the Houseboat at cuba landing, great area for month long anchor spots . I keep the sailboat in bay spings, just after Pickwick. You guys should stay on the hook on bay springs no homes all beaches.

That must have been a scary few minutes as you drifted into the slip - yikes. Strange how we sometimes do something we would normally never do because we’re told to by a person in authority, with no time to really think it through. As you said, good lesson learned (and helpful for all of us - I’m filing it in my internal memory bank, because we encounter inexperienced dockhands all the time who do not fully understand the realities of operating a large boat, so it’s good to be reminded that we need to remain in charge in such situations!))

That's first time I've seen the old grain mill there at Danville in a long time some of it is gone. We used to have a cabin on west Tennessee side just across from that mill. Did a lot of fishing there if you could get fish lured out of the protection of mill there was some good fish there.

@@cruisingandromeda I don't actually remember when it sit along side the river I was born in 59 it was always flooded. But my grandmother remembers it. That abandoned railroad tracks that ends on west Tennessee side has always been an idea fishing spot. The railways built that brem an put a access service road on north side of it with big limestone bank there an catfish always came up to rocks to feed. An she was born 1897 so she fished there dad fished there an so did I as a boy. It wasn't ever a fishing hole secret as long as I can remember when you went you better get there early even though that levee was a mile long you were certain to have a neighbor with a fishing pole nearby.

Yes, the pumps on our fresh water system have been working well! Thanks goodness! We do have a freshwater maker, that will desalinate saltwater....we will review that soon! Thanks for commenting and following along!

It’s hard to tell. On this portion of the loop do a lot of boats get up on plane? The lake seems plenty wide but it’s hard to tell how often the channel narrows.

That's a good looking boat...ever considered getting rid of that hoarding STBD side shorepower cable & stern in?
