I'm in Western Pennsylvania. I could show you some great spots. We had the largest train yard in America for a long time in Conway Pennsylvania, and down the river is Pittsburgh. We have found some great buildings that look as if everyone just stood up and left what they were doing. Its a cool thing!

😢i went there from 5th to 8th grade back in the 80's, and when in high school we had track practice there when it was to cold in the late winter and early spring to run outside. also used to run the steps, up and down was one time, think i was up to 30 in the middle of my distance run, from the east end to where the dollar store is on the tracks, and then on the way back, cut over to the school, run the steps, and then run through the park, the little league, and down south street, before i ran up through the mountain there.

remember the office, Mr Murtin's office, the principal, played football with his kid, and the yellow room was the music room, Ms. Bixler, she was a great lady, right down from Mr. Killian's room by the downstairs boy's bathroom and around the corner was the hall that ran past the gym, video was a walk down memory lane, sad to see it in that condition

I just drove through Mahanoy this past weekend. It was the closest thing I'd seen in the US to towns I saw in Iraq. The seemingly thrown together power lines. The incredibly close living conditions. Crumbling buildings sharing walls with well maintained homes...it was a strange feeling.

My graduating class was actually the last class to go to that school. Then they transitioned them to where the schools are located now at the end of town. I used to walk by the old school a lot. I lived on the road before it. That was for 5th grade, then 6th grade on we were at the new building.

Honestly, that school is NOT abandoned! It is unoccupied! Its folks like you who are exploiting these places. That bldg does have an OWNER and you are not the owner! THe locals have to deal with enought blight as it is. Its obvious, that the bldg is being vadalized. Thank you for encourging such behavoir by promoting places like this! Not everyone has a good intent in their minds when they enter that place! Best to respect the locals of these communities by keeping in mind, these places are NOT ABANDONED!

@@KenopsiaExplorers I understand, however, the histroy is for the people of the area. Its our history. Do you know why it looks likei it does? Its like that because no one can afford to fix it properly, PLUS, the "land rent" charged by the "coal Company" Reading antrhacite will se the ownerback 20k a year!! That was the estimate quoted back almost 2 decades ago. The coal comanies own lot sof land that sits underneath many of the homes and bldgs in the coal reion of schuylkill county. The land rent is a big contributing facotr to the blight. You seem like a decent guy so consider doing a video of the area showing how the blight is tied into the fact that the coal comapnies hold the home owners hostages. The coal companiesliterallly took out towns and villages, due to that fact, because they own the land and got away with it! google Wadesville PA, its near POttsville, well it was. the coal company literally took out mos of the homes, except a few they cannot because the homeowners own the land!! But the coal companty took out roadways going into it. Yes people live there, but you can do a fascinating video of the town. Perhaps enlightening the world about the travesty taking place here If you cant pull up Wadesville, serch for arnots addition. Its the bordering small town. Yes you can drive into Wadesville on the one partial remaining road. Another place of interest, is a village called William Penn. Same story there excpet it is still standing(barely). When the homeowner moves out, not even famiies want to save the homes due to land rent. No smart investor buys into them. Thus out area is so full of blight. Its horrible. So please keep this in mind when visiting here. Be kind to the locals where you set foot. In many case we are b ot to blame, we are literally victims of a corrupt leadership and coal mining.
