Absolutely loved this video Ben. Honestly can't pick one definitively, they are both absolute monsters in their own right. I am loving the improved HDR and night time video on the S23 Ultra though. Didn't realize it was that improved. But Vivo strikes back with that beautiful depth of field from that 1 inch sensor. Looking forward to more content from you, keep up the great work man

dunno why but i feel like vivo kinda lacked on the processing end this year. the x80 pro was a lot more competitive with the other phones even without having a 1 inch sensor. The 12s ultra imo takes better main stills mostly due to the more natural processing

Man, I have to admit Samsung seems to have improved low light video since they also used to crank the ISO and have that purple/blue night sky unless you used pro mode. Can't wait to test it for myself. Thanks for the video, Ben. You're one of the best at these run and gun videos.

At least half of the tiny differences can be corrected in the afterwork to personal taste. 😎 There are no bad highend-smartphones anymore!

Oversharpening in regular mode and non optimal raw capture (magenta slider all the way over and still too magenta) are still an issue on some I think.

To be honest, as much as how other brands are having better hardwares, I find it hard to move away from Samsung because of the UX and software support. I mean, One UI and 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates is tough to beat.

OPPO does 4+1 as well. The EU has requested all OEMs go to 5-years minimum support. So this is no longer a big deal, and Samsung are just one of many that do it; even the OnePlus 11, costing £600 less, has 4+1! Samsung does more regular updates, whereas OPPO (VIVO) has security updates every two months.

@@RanggaWiratno Yes, the big OEMs have already moved in that direction; they can afford it. But for Sony, Moto and Nokia which make little money, it will be a problem for them. If they do not comply, then the EU will dictate they do or face fines and bans. The EU hope OEMs voluntarily comply. Germany wants six years, and that will go for a vote. Thankfully the wheels turn slowly in the EU, and it may take some years before it is mandatory, but good OEMs are doing it to avoid bad PR.

@@andyH_England that's not enacted yet. Plus the Vivo isn't available in the EU - and they five Zero - Zilch update promise for phones with Origin OS. Older flagships were dropped after only 2 major updates and 2.5years security updates. Right now the X90 Pro+ is still stuck on december software update. Overall horrible software experience on Vivo which even adb debloat cannot really fix. The s23 will have good resell value in 2-3 years while no-one will want the x90PP... (plus all the trouble with google services like Android Auto, Backup, play store not updating itself, no properly working google assistant, and so on. If you wanna buy a phone to hate - it's gotta have Origin OS...)

@@adyady3099 work as in have it customized with my launcher and making sure other apps get notifications. I saw a video from Trading Shenzhen that helps with that so I'm hoping in the not to distant future I can purchase one.

@@PsychMan what's wrong with default launcher? i think it looks great. On notification yes, it can get a bit tricker but only with certain apps, you need to disable/enable things here and there but i managed to fix all of my notification at the end

Awesome video, Ben, keep up the good work. Question. The Vivo has a Zeiss Natural Color setting. Does that help with the blownout highlights/crushed shadows? I want to get the X90, but the more sample pics I watch, the less I like the post processing from Vivo.

Yes, the T* coating helps to avoid blownout highlights.

I noticed that the video samples from both phones appeared stuttery. Is that due to your editing software or frame rate? Or a KZread thing?

that night video on the S23 was better selfie camera on X90 Pro Pulus was better then samsung (no matter the 4k... the footage and detail were better), but ultrawide selfie was better on S23 Ultra about the 200 MP vs 1 inch sensor part - they both were good, you just focused on different things on the same pictures when testing and that is where the difference came from :D (example - picture with the table - S23 focus on the far objects while X90 focus on the table; second boat photo - S23 focus on the city in the far while X90 focus on the nearest object) - conclusion - X90 is better because you can just touch to focus and reduce the light a bit and get what you need and still have option for more light while on the S23 you can't

@@alexandermuller950 I think its Oppo with the best main camera, but their software has to be upgraded. When they do it will be the best main and zoom camera on phone for now (excluding Huawei p60 pro main camera)

the standard s23 uses the same camera hardware as the s22, you can expect about the same (aside of some minimal software based color & contrast tweaks).

A good battle. 200mp vs 1inch sensor but on samsung has a better optimisation now and a better AI than before.

Yep I agree Vivo just need software updates to improve the dynamic range that would help it remain the camera champ.

Are the S23 Ultra's camera rings same with the phone color? Or it's just black/silver?
