🌞 A Good Morning Start: UK vs USA - Advanced English Podcast Episode
Description:
🎧 Rise and shine with this uplifting episode of the Advanced English Podcast, where hosts Kat from the USA and Mark from the UK share their exceptionally good mornings. This episode is a breath of fresh air, focusing on those rare, perfect starts to the day that set a positive tone for everything that follows, while also providing valuable language learning content.
🇺🇸 Kat recounts a surprisingly smooth morning where everything seemed to fall into place. She talks about the benefits of winding down early, which led to a refreshing night's sleep and an unusually cooperative morning with her kids. The punctuality, the smooth drive to work, and the overall ease of the morning left her hoping for more days like this.
🇬🇧 Mark describes waking up feeling well-rested after a conscious decision to put his phone away early the night before. His morning was characterized by an energetic start, cooperative kids, and a remarkably clear commute to work. Arriving at the office in high spirits, Mark reflects on the joy of such mornings and the wish for them to become a regular occurrence.
📚 Throughout the episode, Kat and Mark explore various English expressions related to sleep, morning routines, and family dynamics. This episode is perfect for advanced English learners aiming to enhance their vocabulary and comprehension skills in a positive and engaging context.

It's another brilliant episode 👍. So, thanks❤️. I usually have a good morning because I get up out of bed the time I schedule. I pray first and then I recite the Qur'an . After that, I have breakfast and I go to work excited and energetic.

Hi, teachers :) good to see you again! I have a just simple question.. when you say ‘a’, sometimes you say it as ‘eɪ‘. What is the difference between ‘eɪ‘ and ‘ə’? And doesn’t it matter not to distinguish them?
@highlevellistening
3 ай бұрын
Hi! Nice to have you here! eɪ as in make, the long "a" sound is sometimes used in pausing... "I think I might want to make a (eɪ)..... pizza!" This is also used when we are emphasizing the words, maybe for additional pronunciation or understanding "well, I said "I. want. to. make. a (eɪ). pizza." " but the ə or the "uh" sound is very commonly used when speaking quickly I want to make a pizza: I wanna mak-uh pizza! The ə is probably used more often to make your speech sound more fluent, and to easily connect words, but there is no real difference in meaning between the two sounds. Hope that helps!

Sorry you told about the difference between series and season in the other episode which seemed different from I found in the reference...
@highlevellistening
4 ай бұрын
Hi there! It's a good question. The classes you are watching are the Advanced Vocabulary *Series*. The series is basically the concept, the focus or the format of the show. That means that *all* videos in this series will contain advanced vocabulary and expressions. However, we stopped after 20 episodes to review and refresh. This set of 20 episodes makes up a *Season*. There are 20 episodes in Season 1 and there is a Season 1 study pack in our store which contains extra materials and lessons based on those 20 episodes only. Now we have started *Season 2* of our Advanced Vocabulary *Series*. So it's continuing the same format as before, and we are going to make another 20 episodes. We will stop at Episode 20 and that will be the end of Season 2. We will make another study pack, and then probably start Season 3! I hope that makes sense! - Mark

@@highlevellistening sorry, I suppose you misunderstand my question, I asked about the difference between the word series and series , and you said in American we say season but in Britain we say series,. I searched and found season is part of series!!
@highlevellistening
3 ай бұрын
Ah I see, yes in the UK people are more likely to say 'series' and Americans more often say 'season' UK 🇬🇧: Series 1, Series 2, Series 3 etc. (This is especially true with UK made shows or ones that appear on British TV). If it's something on Netflix or online, some Brits may say Season 1, 2, 3. USA 🇺🇸 : Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 Hope that helps!
I can’t got season 2 pdf

you know I was listening to these beautiful accents and I thought How American accent is created during last years ? because American were just British immigrants right ? what did happen and a new accent is created ? I have the same Question about Australia !
@highlevellistening
4 ай бұрын
It really is very fascinating! I believe that in US history there was a big war between the British and the French in the 1700s and this is a big reason Americans speak English instead of French! It's also very interesting that the USA is a mix of so many cultures and influences but also that during colonization, we were originally a mix of many British accents along with many other influences on the language at the time. (1700s/1800s).
I think most viewers would be Indian🇮🇳
