That episode signed off a vintage piece of BBC situation comedy the likes of which could not be reprised today. It was one of a number of classic early shows on television which cheered up many highly challenged lives, bringing joy into living rooms up and down the country during countless recessions and the occasional three day week.

@@kevinbeck6785 I know, isn’t it sad that we have to be too young.😄. I remember asking my parents about things that bordered on sexual things and not understanding it and them just laughing, you think wtf, and you know there’s something deeper, they know something you don’t - it quivers in your mind.

@@Babyblue689 HA HA yes so funny in them days even watching Benny Hill and not understanding the sexual nature of the show, i do realise now 🤣🤣
Old British comedy.... loved it ! 👍
Shame the series’ had to finish, I could keep watching them lol
I always hated the way Bob blamed Terry for his own weaknesses. When Bob did his worst stuff, like drink-driving, playing away (or trying to) or whatever, Terry had nothing to do with it, and often wasn't even there. I think Thelma gradually realised this.
Loved audrey and in george and mildred
They would never have left those fish and chips!
Mrs Yeatman from Dad's Army!
I fancied Sheila Fern massively and still do
6 pints and fish and chips heaven
Nurse played by Rosalind Bailey (Sarah Hedley in "When the Boat Comes in")
The old fols home nurse played a good role in when the boat comes in
It's funny how the only two bad guys that 'Bob' could think of, Mussolini and Capone, were Italians! lol
Sheila fern was a hottie
Continuity is all over the shop !, beer glass full , then empty …..🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
You got bought Bob,, a trained puppy, I prefer Terrie`s Uncle, Great series,Terry neads an ally though --Outnumbered about five to one -
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
The past is always the best in my experience doesnt sound too promising for me does it?

Bob let it be known on some talk show that Terry´s wife told him she was pregnant with twins ans he ran into a lamppost. He never got over it. So they say, but as things usually go there´s always another side to the story.

@@alanyoung407 a common misconception I'm afraid, the show was repeated many times over the years.
Bit of a weak episode on the whole. I was expecting some kind of forward-flash scene showing aged versions of Bob and Terry in appropriate makeup and was disappointed when this never occurred. All this talk about "forty years on" is incredibly ironic now in hindsight.

The flash forward to an aged Bob and Terry wouldn't have suited this style of comedy at all.
Lasagne…what’s that? 🤣
