    Try 1/8 mesh for small gold ,takes forever to fill a bucket , if you can lift a 5 gallon bucket of 1/8 ? the sluice likes 1/8 and it won't kick out so much of the fine gold . Good luck !

    New sub from over the pond in the south of England. I have a 25 year plan for 24g to cast my daughters wedding bands. Tip for wader soles, either try spraying the bottom with hairspray (cheaper option) or get a fly fishing re-felt kit (costly) as the stormsure bonds permanently. Gonna look forward to seeing the back catalogue of vids 👍🍻⛏️😁

    Dude I found a nice spot by the house in Paulding county. Its in a layer of clay about 2’ deep in the creek bed. Cantaloupe size quartz rock 4’ down mixed with hand size quartz rock and loads of black sand. It’s definitely a strange spot but the color are big and easy to spot. I spent maybe 4 hrs in the same spot and found more gold than I have after 10 hrs work at my other spot. Its a hike in and out but definitely worth it. I only panned also so a sluice is gonna mean pay day. The deeper I go the less I find. I don’t know if it can stratify through the clay. If not then its gonna be easier than I thought to get to it.

    Awesome video here bud. Definitely that was a very nice spot for finding nice flour gold. Lol. And totally a nice job finding the float quartz rocks. Definitely something for you to check out cause you might found a source of the gold that was somewhat left behind by the old timers miners. Lol. That one big black covered quartz rock definitely might be worth taking home one day and crushing it up and panning it out. 😆

    Can you use a sluice in ga without a permit on public land?

  • @goldiswhereyoufindit

    @goldiswhereyoufindit

    4 ай бұрын

    Not all public land is the same regarding the use of sluices. It depends on the jurisdiction. State parks you can't even pan at all or sluice. National forests don't allow sluices in Georgia, but in NC they do allow them at Uwharrie. Parks may have their own rules separate from legislation. The state of Georgia does not have a permitting process for hobbyists. Only commercial miners need permits from the state. The laws are so convoluted and vary so much you can't take anything I say as legal advice. Private property is your best bet for using a sluicebox.

  • @goldiswhereyoufindit

    @goldiswhereyoufindit

    I leave it on my gold stored in a vile. Eventually I'll use a retort - basically a still for mercury. It vaporizes the mercury and recaptures it for safe storage.
