🇺🇸 Kat from the US talks about her diverse group of friends and what each person brings to her life. She describes Danielle as a social butterfly, always organizing gatherings, and Michael as the laid-back one who prefers chilled-out hangouts. She also talks about Megan, her longest friend, who is her go-to for advice and laughs. You discussed a crucial topic. I find it interesting. Thanks for the video. I would like to describe my mate's personality: I am lucky because I have such a wonderful mate. She is humble and generous. What I like about her more is that she keeps the secret and she is honest. She always stands by my side especially in difficult moments and hard times. She is really a real mate. I wish for her all the good ❤️

This is commonly spoken and heard while the grammar rule would follow “each is” “each one is” (and we often say that) it’s common to hear “each of my friends are different” in spoken English breaking the rules a little ☺️
Please please next beginner conversation ❤❤

Hello Kat I'm enjoying followng your episodes. This one is also very useful and helpful with having lot os of phrases . I'm glad for this video I have one question for you. You use "kind of'" phrase many times. What does it means for example : I kind of light up when I think my friends But my inglish is awful .So forgive me for my mistake in the sentence
@highlevellistening
5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for joining the class! "Kind of" is such a common filler especially in American English, it's similar to "a bit" or "a little" and it's often used to soften an adjective or sometimes can make it a little "cute" in a way, so your sentence: "I kind of light up when I think of my friends." means I light up a little when I think of my friends and that sounds very nice! I kind of light up = I light up a little I light up I light up a lot Thanks for your comment and question I hope that helps!
Thanks for the video, Greets from Indonesia, I wanna ask about word "extroverted". At 12.00 minute mark in this video, Mark said that he's extroverted. Why do we use "extroverted" instead of "an extrovert". I think the extroverted is an adjective and we will need additional noun after that
@highlevellistening
4 ай бұрын
Hi there! Good question! You are correct, "I am [an extrovert]." is the noun. "I [am extroverted]." is the adjective. I think if we want to focus on someone's general behaviour or personality, we will say the adjective. A: "What's he like?" B: "He's very extroverted, so he has lots of friends and he loves telling stories." But I think if we want to talk about our social habits, like how often you go to parties etc., we use the noun. A: "How often do you go to language exchanges?" B: "I'm kind of [an introvert], so I only go once every 2 months." I hope that makes sense!

I've been reading the comments to your video and some of them are full of advanced vocabulary as well. Efficatious and Effective. Is there any difference at all? The browser found the following explanation: effective means able to produce a result in general, efficatious - able to produce a specific desired result. Is that true in both English varians?
@highlevellistening
5 ай бұрын
We almost never use the word efficacious in spoken English, effective and efficient would be more commonly used quite often. Effective is giving us the result we wanted. Efficacious is similar. Efficient is not wasting any resources. Hope that helps!
Is it normal to use bestie in UK? And could you both please give us your perspective about each of one country words and create this section in your brilliant lessons. Thanks
@highlevellistening

Hi! We covered most of your questions in the video, bestie is not used as often in the UK it’s very common in the US. We also usually give both of our perspectives from our own countries in the explanation of the words and phrases ☺️
