***** sonic lack kill set up. He need to learn rely on reads to get kills. Sonic lading options isn't good. Especially on battlefield. Sonic can get predictable. He always need a mix up. I've heard some people say he has terrible frame data. He has trouble against projectile characters. Sonic isn't a hard character to master, but he takes a bit more effort to win compare to the other high tier characters like Rosalina, Sheik, Yoshi, maybe Diddy I dunno since the nerf, etc.

***** you forget that sonic has impeccable recovery times. He can easily whip out smash attacks and get away with it. You're only way to beat a decent sonic is to play a lot campier and a lot cheaper. Had there been more characters with more rewarding aggressive playstyles sonic wouldn't be so damn good. But because he can beat most characters toe to toe it makes it very frustrating to deal with one.

WiredPyrex punishes the Up-B with an Up-B, follows up with an Up-B, and finishes with an Up-B.

Coney- "What can't this up-b do"... Me-"It can't be hit."

I'm surprised neither of them used one of the custom down-b's. Focused slap kills stupidly early & hot slap normally hits twice then launches opponents but on heavier characters with low damage will be hit twice as normal but the low knockback on them causes it to hit them twice again, doing massive damage.

I think Coney and TK may just be my favorite commentators at Xanadu.

If you even had decent matchup knowledge you would know that spin dash is easily beaten out by and jab, tilt ,or long lasting hitbox

Seagull just exposed Average Joe and himself at the same time.

This is about half the number of times Meta Knight would input Up-B in Brawl and about a third of the times Sonic inputs a spin dash in either game. Clearly, those moves "overcentralize" those characters and should be banned.

Donkey kong is a strong heavy character vs sonic a light weaker character, now do you see the advantage dk has with a move that does every thing but heal you. I hate sonic in this game too but I'm not blind to the fact that dk has a seriously broken custom

PRL 412 I don't see how I'm blind to the fact that Kong cyclone is broken when I compared it to Sonic's spin dash. I don't think spin dash is broken after all the patches I just think that Seagull should of stuck to his character. If you think Kong cyclone is broken then find a way around it, don't just pick up DK and spam it, that's hypocrisy imo

That's not what hypocrisy means, he never said he was against using DK nor did he say it was wrong of people to use him, he picked him up to show how op his up B was, as we clearly saw. You're right that sonic's spin dash isn't broken like dk's it doesn't have a wind hit box, it doesn't spike, it doesn't have super armor and it isn't instant. Also there are things called match ups in competitive play, being stubborn doesn't doesn't win tournaments so it doesn't make sense for you to expect him to fight a battle where he is clearly at a disadvantage

PRL 412 I don't know I feel there could of been a better way of beating kong cyclone, Wario beats it very solidly with his chomp, DK sucks him in and gets command grabbed if Wario is using that move but I guess this is a good way to fight it too especially since he won. The tag Evo 2015 fits perfectly with these matches too since just about all the matches will be full of insane customs

I really want to support Customs in competitive...but then it's matches like these that make me reconsider...

Windy dong custom needs to be banned at Evo. Why? Becuase some guy named Bob spammed it through out a whole tourney on Mr. R's stream. I don't even know whether he actually played DK seriously.

People are going to act like one set proves that customs are dumb. Newsflash: Not everybody is well-versed in dittos. Give Joe the time to figure it out and he'd be able to beat other DKs played by good players.

It's a great option, no doubt, but it's not unbeatable. Overswarm posted something today about customs and he dissects the move and how it can be dealt with. Great move, but not the end all.

TheAltrox meta knight could be dealt with in brawl doesn't mean he didn't have broken attributes, This kinda shows how customs weren't really balanced for competitive play and was merely meant for goofing around. I dunno this move is worse than diddy's up air for sure

PRL 412 This move isn't even comparable to Brawl Metaknight, good as it is. Are there any stats yet to suggest that this custom has widely stormed the customs meta outside of S@X? If we get a whole bunch of DKs going places at major custom events outside of S@X, then we can talk. I honestly see this gimmick getting trumped in the end at events such as Evo. Millions of things have been considered cheap in the past, and many times, we learned to adapt. Another reason why Average Joe got knocked out of Losers.

My point wasn't that the move couldn't be beat, its that the move itself is broken. I understand adaptation is always a primary factor in determining victories that's why I brought up the brawl meta knight example, but adaptation doesn't really justify the problem, why would a heavy and powerful character like DK need a move the has kill power, super armor, a wind hit box and no start up or ending lag? From a design stand point it doesn't make sense, couple that with rage and it can be very bad, that's all I'm saying

T_Peg Well, that just proves that he's the better ROB. Ditto's really show how much knowledge and experience the player has. If you don't know your own ROB's weaknesses and you lose, that's pretty much your bad for not trying to cover up your weaknesses when the other player was able to clearly exploit them. Knowing your own character's weaknesses is essential in ditto's.
