Yes, Wei is a natural-born leader. He's clever, intuitive, outgoing, cares about the welfare of others. He will always put others first before himself. I also believe he would be a great teacher. Look at how he taught Jin Ling those fight moves a while back and his emphasis on changing your motions so you can't be easily countered.

I really do wish they included the part in the book when the Wen people killed in the siege crawled out of the Blood pool and saved everyone and crumbled to dust after saving Weiying and the other cultivators. I cried at that. It was like they were paying him their final goodbye... Edit: Nie Huaisang at the background silently watching as his schemes takes life. Me: yeah, i see you be creepin boy. He is so scandalized. That is basically their underwear so it would be like walking in on your son wearing his bros boxers after a “sleepover”. And not like in a “oh dude I forgot my underwear can I borrow some” way.

My students and co-teachers told me that my facial expression is always that of Lan Zhan's. Now I know why many people think that I am a snob hahahhaha but personally I think I am a warm-hearted person.

The phrase, "Still waters run deep" I always heard meant that someone might be quiet or reserved on the outside, but their true emotions are deeper and warmer. Be proud of your own nature. Being compared to Lan Zhan is a compliment because the character does have a kind and selfless nature. He thinks of others first, before himself.

If there are people which can be described as wolves in sheep's clothing, then Wei Ying, for me, is a sheep in wolves' clothing. He is framed for so many bad things he didn't even do yet he always save everyone, even willing to sacrifice himself many times just so that the people dear to him will be safe. I really pity him 😭😭

another thing this I liked about this drama is their weapons. They don't look fake, the swords are slim, simple but beautiful unlike in other drama where swords are thicker than pillars and heavily decorated. . ufff they are very irritating.

Besides of the weapons, there are so many hidden messages in dressing codes of different characters. White col uniform of Lan Family, means they can't have any dark spots on their robes, as well as in their performance. Red + black col dressing code matching with Wei Ying very well. Red col means passion,just like his kind hearted and pleasant personality. Black col means miserable fate he was suffering in the past Red col dressing code for Wen Family is originated from their family totem, the SUN.. BTW, "Wen" in Chinese means "warmth",matching with the Sun also

You have to wonder how long Wei Ying can continue to keep drawing on what little spiritual power he has left and his own body's energy? In the past, Wei Ying has fallen unconscious/coma in order for his body to recover. At some point, his body will not be able to handle these high energy demands. Maybe Lan Zhan will have the help of Sizhui, Jin Ling, and the other juniors to run interference in dangerous situations?

@@littlerabbit612 I had forgotten that since Wei Ying now has Mo's body? It did come with a golden core that is weak, which I also assume means the spirit power is also weak. But if Wei Ying could avoid dangerous situations long enough? He might be able to really begin to cultivate the golden core and make it stronger. Strong enough to use his sword again? If there was ever a spin-off movie with Wei Ying in it, that could be a nice story arc.

@@littlerabbit612 I also forgot that since he is now in Mo's body? This body does have a weak golden core, which means with time and cultivation Wei Ying could slowly strengthen it. Which would make his spiritual power stronger as well. Since there have been two spin-off movies? I would love to see another one either showing what Wei Ying and Lan Zhan were doing during that time apart or place it a few years after Wei Ying came back from his journey. They have an adventure with Jiang Cheng or maybe the juniors to combat some threat.

@@CindersVale I'm almost positive that at least in the drama here, he came back in his own body without a new core. he said something about the mo family not being able to recognize xuanyu's "adult body" because he'd apparently been locked up since he was a young teen, but he worried that the cultivators might, so he needed to keep his identity under wraps (especially if lan zhan would show up). the mask itself is evidence too because he didn't wear one in the novel that did explicitly state it was xuanyu's body

@@PreciousCosmos When Mo Xuanyu used the Sacrificial Summons spell, he was willing to sacrifice his soul in order to summon the Yiling Patriarch, Wei Wuxian, into his body to take revenge on the Mo family for their abuse towards him. According to a major fan site: Mo Xuanyu had a much lower level of cultivation than Wei Wuxian, as he had not even formed a Golden Core. Mo Xuanyu's body was not as sturdy as Wei Wuxian's original body which explains why Wei Wuxian got so weak after using his abilities. I also read that both men looked very similar. I'll go with the idea that personality, how one carries yourself, character traits, and that over time Wei Wuxian's true self began to reshape Mo Yuanyu's appearance. The mask was a good idea, but I still think dressing all in black with a red fabric hair tie, wearing your hair in the exact same style, and playing the flute with resentful energy floating around you isn't keeping your secret identity very secret, lol.

This is just my guess but every time it's been passed on to the next person, the previous user has an unfortunate habit dying right afterwards. Granted, we only have Madam Yu's death to go on but that's my guess since I didn't read the novel yet. It could be Jin Ling's way of saying I'm not dying and neither are you, judging from the annoyed look he gave after the shock.
