Cro Mags and this album irreversibly mixed metal and hardcore. SOD members a brilliant mix. Bassist was Anthrax's bassist originally. Singer Milano at the start was mixed in NYHC since late 70s. They were already well schooled. Written and recorded in 3 days, you feel the rush, urgency, and intensity in the whole, genius record.

I think I wore out 2 copies of this cassette in the late 80's early 90's. One of my all time fav albums. And now, as a father with a 16 yr old son we just went and seen Slayer, Anthrax and Death Angel play a show in Indianapolis. Told him all about the S.O.D. jams with Ian and Benante and crew. He is into Thrash and speed metal just as much as I was at his age. ...One of the highlights of parenthood for me !

Bought this recording in 1985 and still havent grown tired of it yet.

I ran a small moving company in orange county, ca. We worked with the navy reserve office and would hire reserve personnel when we got busy and we had a Sargent Bohannon who i tagged as Sargent slaughter. I'm 52 and still would dive into the pit. Maybe not for long.

Im 2024 yrs old and i started listening to this in 500 BC. It still kicks my balls up through my stomach and out of my mouth

Every riff on this album puts a big smile on my face , you have to Love this $hit!!

One of the brutalist bloodiest pits of my lifetime rainbow music Hall Denver Colorado in 85 or 86 I was 14 haven't stopped since mosh on brothers

They don't really mosh in CO anymore I tried last year. They weren't having it. Well maybe at the Slayer show but I was unfortunately blacked out for that show. I guess I was starting mosh pits with anyone standing in a group. And they kicked me out for going too crazy.

I met Billy Milano in Berkeley when he's checking out the California scene really cool dude we had some beers together nice guy great memories

Greatest crossover ever , found this when I found Anthrax 87 ATL . I got so much crap for my S.O.D. Shirt . Still listen to this album all the time . Great heavy riffs & slam parts . Even the cover is great . Holds up real good too , Long live Sgt. D!!!

Add 1 album: DEAD HORSE: An Unrelated Story That's Time Consuming" Add this to your list & you'll feel complete. Trust me, it's a rare thrash-comedy gem. They were going to open for Metallica in 89'-90' and I believe D.H. would have stolen the show. Dead Horse was from Houston, so they used to play with Pantera in the late 80's and early 90's.

This one is really making a very strong comeback in my life. A Timeless and precious jem.

I finally bought this on CD at my local record store! Killer album! It's a reissue but i don't care. It was the only copy left so i snatched it up. Thanks for the upload or i never would of heard this amazing album then went out and purchased it!

Played in a band in the late 90's early 2000,, we got to open for SOD. And DRI a separate night. Best nights of my life.

I'm 56 and I still mosh every once in a while! Saw them with the Cromags in 85' here in Texas. You could go to 4 or 5 shows a week back then, the good old days!

I used to buy bootleg metal tapes in high school from this Italian dude in his track suit and gold chains.... Anyway, he said if I liked the HB Ball, I'd love this..... I became his best customer after that hahahhah

That super-heavy guitar tone. I had the white shirt; back read "I'm not racist, I hate everyone'". Live at Budokan - Billy Milano jumping off that speaker stack from about 10-12 feet up, down onto the crowd below. I came across Milano on the street in Milwaukee (Metalfest 2000 or 01). I said "Hey, you're Billy Milano". He said "Yeah, I hear he's a real asshole". That was the end of the conversation. My friend likes to embellish the story a bit and say that I almost got my ass kicked by Billy Milano :)

Billy Milano was selling merch at their table in '97 when they played at Milwaukee Metal Fest. I asked him if he had a t-shirt in a 3X. He said, "Nah, I have an XL. Maybe a 2X. But you're a fat bastard like me, so just stretch it out and it'll fit fine." And that's how you get a fat guy to buy a shirt that's too small.

This was my playlist along with The Mentors, Anthrax and Suicidal in 87..had a music teacher who would let us bring in our walkmans and listen to music of our choice. This is one of the most underrated albums of all time..

A short time after this album came out, my folks had company over. They were complaining about the noise, so i went across the street. I told them that they had complained that it was too loud, so he turned it up and we drank beers while listening to the cassette. Needless to say when I walked back across the street, the adults weren't happy with teenage me.

I remember about two years ago going to a record store with my dad (which we often do). We walk in and I go to the metal. I’m flipping through the new arrivals and I see this album, an original pressing. I’ve never grabbed a record quicker. It was about 25 bucks, but it’s worth more than that to me. Killer album.
