I am not gonna lie, at first, I thought he looked silly with that color and the handsome-Squidward face they gave him. That said, his look eventually grew on me and I came to really love it. I feel they had to do something radical to illustrate his power-up since he doesn't have hair that can change color and turn spiky.

I didn't like orange piccolo at first, but after seeing him in both the movie and manga I got used to it and grew to love the form over time. Pretty cool for piccolo's first legitimate form outside of turning giant! I'd recommend checking out the movie if you want what's basically a Piccolo movie.

The orange looks awesome with the fiery aura and the rest of the color scheme, especially the red eyes.

Honestly I dig the form, Is orange the ideal color? no maybe not although its hard to imagine what color would work better. In my opinion though the color change for the form was an absolute must, If he was just more muscular I don't think it would have gotten across the fact that this is truly a super saiyan like transformation for him and not just him growing in size like warrior namekians can do and. I love piccolo so I am super happy to see him become relevant.

Same with you, since God Goku it feels like they decided they need to change colour of Saiyan's hair and now Piccolo's skin outside of Future Trunks. It has grown on me more than Beast Gohan especially due to change of his bulk and musculature setting him apart otherwise but like you said a darker green and face structure more similar to Demon King Piccolo would've worked for me. I was expecting his articulation to be relatively bad but sucks how bad this one was. Still aesthetically he looks great that im still getting him.

As someone who saw the movie I can say that the shirt should actually have the ab crunch and he should have had a stretchy arm accessory. At least one stretched arm with like the Frieza tail hinges.

Watch the movie; it's fun. Namekians are the ones that create dragonballs, so that's a hint as to why Piccolo is orange and has a namekian tree on his back.

I like the transformation overall. I feel like they had to do the colour change since it's like a "super saiyan" type thing, so they had to do more than just beef him up. I do think it lacks contrast compared to the OG, but I still like it. It blends well.

Goku is a saiyan which is closer to human in appearance. Piccolo is a lizard like creature who can regenerate his limbs and apparently change colors is how I justify the change in skin tone. Also he is orange like the dragon balls. I was tired of seeing piccolo and the others fighters fall so far behind Goku and Vegeta. They started to feel like extras in the background. For heaven's sake Piccolo was a baby sitter for the past 15 years and was one season away from being the new Yamcha. Do I Like the color, meh, but the transformers was needed to bring him back as a legitimate character.

I absolutely love his deisgn, i think the colors look great, and lal the other setails look great like him getting bulked up, getting a new gi with the symbol of Namekian pride, it all just looks great.

I'd have preferred a darker green. It would have been a nice parallel with how Lord Slug looked.

I agree that changing his color to give him a new form seems gimmicky. From Guru to Kami and King Piccolo, the Namekians we know have all been green. He has fused several times but never change color, but since Dragon Ball Super has been obsessed with colour forms, power ups get red, blue, white, black, gold, orange... yeah, you get the idea. All these just to push merchandise sales. I like the bulkiness. Though I still think his look with the cape and turban look more badass.

I think for his size the articulation is good enough,he's a big and buff guy,could be a little better but nothing too crazy,even in the movie he's doesnt seem to be a super flexible guy,so to me he's great,9/10

Love love love this transformation for Piccolo. I love that he got a power-up in general, and I think it looks incredibly cool. This is my most anticipated DB figure in a long time, though I'm not a fan of the rubber gi for him. It's too gappy around the sleeves, Gohan's gi at least looked solid once you had him posed.

Question of the day: Piccolo is finally become stronger, remember he's still like namekian teenager, I'm very happy with his new powerup. And I'm even more happy in the movie he remembered he has growing up power!

I like that they finally gave Piccolo a transformation, but I don't like how the transformation's head looks, and I would've preferred him to stay green. Basically, just a buffer version would have been nice. I'm not completely opposed to a different look for him, I just think they can do better than this.

I loooove this figure so much. Especially with loving the form. Definitely in my top 10 this year. My only gripe is that i wish the gi was a darker purple color and the orange on the arms was more close to a red orange. Thats the colors depicted in the movie and promo art for the form

Finally a Piccolo with big shoulders.

I saw the movie late, but did stubble across this design on accident. The article was in Japanese, so I had no idea it was supposed to be Piccolo. I think the theme behind the yellow and gold colors like super saiyans and this orange form is to look like energy is coursing through them making them glow. Color changes are the easiest visual sign something is different. It is also more toyetic. If the transformations look too much alike, there is no reason to get the other. The SSJ to SSJ 2 problem.

At the beginning i didn't like the orange either but i have to admit that it grew on me with the pass of time, to the point that now it's my favorite look for Piccolo.

I love the orange form. It’s always nice to know that Piccolo has this power up now. Although the different shades of orange for his arms is odd, but it’s not unwelcome.

I really like this since Piccolo deserves more credit and new forms also you gotta watch Superhero you'll enjoy the form more, piccolo gets technically 2 forms first his Green becomes a yellowish Green then 2nd his Orange Form

The color of the arms look off. But the chunkyness is awesome.

I love his new powerup. The orange colour works for me. I think you just got a bad copy, my Piccolo's legs are all tight and working well.

The torso engineering design is really a set back. What’s worse is they are rolling it out to other figures. Looks like their new Trafalgar Law will also be having this issue.

I personally enjoyed this movie much more than the first two movies of the new era. The transformations are mediocre tho, I don’t like the idea or execution of the forms, makes no sense, but overall I understand their reasoning for giving them a new form, and at least they can stand next to the main cast again.

It was way overdue for him to get a power upgrade! Piccolo was always that guy handling shite! Huge fan of the orange look too! At first it was weird but it grew on me. Also, I will forever be calling him Thiccolo from here on end! 🤣

Was pretty neutral about the colors on this design, but after the movie it made sense and made it pretty dope.

The orange used doesn't really work, but he'd look too much like Lord Slug if they stuck with green. I think a deeper green or more redish orange would work, as if to indicate he's more ripe. That being said, I do like that he's more muscular.

Bandai have been killing it with the faces, especially with the new kid goku. Just bought him today and the face sculpts are fantastic.

Thiccolo! Can't unhear it lol. I like the Idea of the transformation, as far as colors it makes sense if you think of a plants life cycle so it's grown on me. See what I did there?

I like golden thiccolo. The colors aren't super cool looking but its nice seeing piccolo get an upgrade.

If you’re careful about this, you can pull each antennae out and readjust them with some glue so they’ll be more flush. I had to do that with both recent piccolos.

I like the color scheme because if they made him this big and still green then it'd look too much like Hulk...bat least, just imagining it in my own head it would. I like the orange, it's different and fresh!

He's orange because of his connection to the dragonballs; which is how he got the transformation at all. I like it a lot.

The new Thiccolo/Chadccolo movie is really good.

I normally don't care about DBZ or their Figures. This one however, I could definitely use him as an Alien! In fact, he looks like a Durlan, think Chameleon Boy from the Legion of Super Heroes.

I got it because I wanted a swoll Namekian, so I'm happy. I havent seen the movie I just think he looks cool.

It's funny how some of these hasbro fan boys who mention Anthony about being tough on a multimillion dollar company like hasrbro are quite when he's equally tough on bandai and neca. The later two companies do produce better figures over hasbro's marvel legends team, but they aren't flawless.

I honestly got hyped the moment he turned into a Kaiju Orane Piccolo in the movie.

I don't really care about this form of Piccolo but I don't understand why did they make it orange... whatever, we all know most Dragon Ball characters just change colors as an excuse to sell more toys, lol. I kinda like the way these new torsos look but I hope they can adjust them a bit. It's also a good way to avoid the sloppy paintjob the Trunks figure had.

I love orange piccolo. The design, even the kinda bs way he gets it from shenron, as a little namkien kinda thank you to him and kami. Mmm great movie too. I don't mind the kinda crappy articulation because he's bigger and won't be going ham in poses (at least for me).

I ordered these through PBANDAI and I still haven’t gotten it🤦🏻‍♂️ This is definitely my most anticipated figure of the year!

I haven't seen the movie yet and I'm kinda ambivalent to the look. There's enough history with color change in DBZ transformations that I buy it. The naming conventions suck though. Blue, Gold, Orange. I think the hair is silly but at least Beast Gohan sounds cool. But Thiccolo is great.

Anthony, you had mentioned in comments you had difficulty finding Furay Planet's recent offerings. I just picked up Blade Master Weng last night for $86.99 shipped (including $3 off welcome coupon and taxes) from Gundamit. Apparently the figure is made to pop apart at the waist ball joint to remove the belt/skirt piece to allow a different configuration using the super articulated bottom half that is otherwise occluded You can also preorder Weng at BBTS and now Veteran William is back in stock as well.

I am just super bias about piccolo and enjoy him a bunch. I agree he should be so limited in posing as it really defeats the purpose of then Theme. It's a shame how they seem to make larger characters so much like statues when they don't have to. That's kinda what this guy is. It's why I don't like buying Premium Bandai exclusives when no reviewer will get hands on it for a year. Orange Piccolo Piccolo looking more muscular isn't really new. We've seen it countless times. Namekians enlarging themselves to be giants and simply having bulkier namekians as well. A more physical transformation was needed. Given how golden aura's and skin has been established with Saiyans and whatever Frieza is. I think stylistically it makes sense that a new genuine transformation actually be more drastic. Arguing he's never done this before.......well Goku never did the whole gold hair thing before he transformed in DBZ. But does it actually look good to me? I think it does, but I wish wish we had seen it with DBS Broly animation. Switching to the video game style animation was a step back to me.

I don't like Super but he looks cool. I approve of Giga Chad Piccolo

The hip articulation should be like the Chainsaw Man figure they released. I bought it for my son and when we were handling it, we were amazed cause it was soft plastic, not a floating piece and granted him Spider-man levels of articulation!

I pre-ordered this way before i saw your review- once viewed i was like "Oh no..." lol. I like the figure - HATE the hard "clothing" that prevents posing. Why not sculpt to the body so he remains FULLY posable. Bad, bad decision. And yes, very loose (i still like him, but dont love him, and thats a shame. I think he looks great). Greeat review as always 👍

I think the aesthetic is pretty good. When my friend told me (before I saw the movie) it was just 'Piccolo but orange' I was bracing myself for the worst, but they did a good job of making him intimidating by bulking him up a ton and I like that. I do agree on the colour kinda just being meh though. A darker green would have looked much nicer

You should watch the movie tbh. At first I didn’t like it but after giving it some time it was a fun movie.

i use figurise piccolo with sh figures-he has the right height to him.(if Goku is 180cm, Vegeta 170cm, Piccolo is like 210/220cm) and this this is not piccolo orange this is piccolo curcuma style-If you do any jarred piccles You know what I mean hehe,great review, have a good weekend/ps-the lack of those details,lines on arms is bad-design wise.

Goku is officially 5'9 and Piccolo is officially 7'0 so the size difference is good.

I do like this form, probably my favorite form the super era has introduced tbh My only grip is the name, it's lazy and just melds right in with the dbs name scheme of color + character = form name which I dislike (blame dbs frieza for my distaste of this naming scheme) The orange and red matching with the dragon balls is why I like it so much Maybe... Dragon Piccolo? I woulda took Super Piccolo

Dragon Piccolo would've been better but I disagree with Super Piccolo on the sole basis that since once you start thinking on how much that prefix is used in DB, you realize that they kinda went overboard with it. Super Saiyan(1 through 4, god, blue, Rose, Rage, LSSJ) Super Namekian, Super Garlic Jr., Super 13, Super Hatchiyack Super Perfect Cell, Super Jamemba, Super Buu, Super Baby Vegeta (1 and 2), Super 17, Super Yi Shenron (another name for Omega Shenron), Super Shenron, and Super Full Power Jiren. Maybe they could've used Omega instead as well since that isnt overdone yet

@4:44 - *head came off completely* but let's talk about the boots. I dislike the color but it didn't surprise me at all cuz it is Dragon Ball Color Heroes after all. Maybe blue would've been a better choice so they can say Piccolo manages to tap into God ki and became Super Piccolo God Super Namikian. 😂

I would rather just have the segmented torso. This really doesn't look any better, you still have segments and lose articulation.
